Question 2006 Impala - Recall 9132

Received card in the mail today from Recall Information Processing Center. Says "Recall" and "Recall Information" on front. Says a recall has not been completed according to their records - recal 9132. This is first i've been notified of this. Is this to replace a small 6"-7" power steering hose, or is there more to it? I had this hose replaced 3 times last winter. Had to replenish all the fluid all 3 times. First 2 with Chevy recommended hose, 3rd with xtra heavy duty one. Is there more that needs done? Is this a recall for something else?

I would be happy to look into recall information for you. In order to do so, I will need the VIN for the vehicle. Please feel free to contact me by private message as well. Thank you in advance.

Tricia, GM Customer Service.

That one is for the power steering hose, just a rubber length like mentioned above, 6-7 inches or so. I guess the line they used from the factory can burst. Funny though, never had an issue with it, but I have had 3 power steering cooler pipes wear through from the plastic splash shield behind the passenger wheel well. Now I wrap them with wiring conduit and tape the shit out of it, just where it runs by the splash shield, otherwise it would overheat the power steering fluid.

2006 LTZ recall

I received the same 9132 recall notice. GM should recall and replace their transmissions. My last three automobiles have been GM products and ALL three had transmission issues. I have owned the LAST GM product and currently looking at a Toyota.

I had to have the power steering hose replaced in January 2009 after it failed and left my wife stranded.

AAA Approved Shop: "Replaced pressure hose and clamps at cooler, refill & bleed power steering system. Parts $24.36 Labor $94.00 tax $7.10 Total $125.46.

I was lucky to find this shop within 2 mile of the car so the towing was free (AAA Member)

I have a 2006 impala ss the power steering hose broke and when I went to dealer to purchase they told me that the original hose has been replaced with a new part number. When they sold it to me it was a hose but had a inline cooler. About a month after I bought it I received the recall. Just hope everybody is getting the cooler because it help.
