When you pull the battery cables tape them together with the + to the -. Then turn the key to the run and turn on light switch. This pulls all the stored power out. So after 15 to 60 min turn off all the switches and reconect your cables. Then you have the computer reset.

If you would like to have a master computer reset then yes. The computer is reset to the factory setting and the will relearn as you drive.
