ok first off, if any of you knows any sites or forums that deal with the topic of tuning newer FRONT WHEEL DRIVE chevy's (-_- j body cav's included...dangit), or any sites devoted specifically to upgrading the 2000-2005 chevy impala, could you post the urls. i know, its an idiotic idea, but its looking like this is going to be the car im going to get, and i made a bit of a pact that i would never leave any vehicle i owned stock. i was doing some research and the impalas are front wheel drive (dang) v6 (meh, workable) over head valve configured (DANG!) engines... -_-. and yes, i know how much of an idiot i am to even suggest modifying a car like that for power, but thats the exact reason im doing it. anyways, any information or links about supercharging the impala 2000-2005 model, would be greatly appreciated. now, if you'll excuse me, im off to order more prozac...

for tuning software
HPTuner
DHP Powertuner

As far as S/C or any F/I, as long as it's the 3800 its not too big of a deal, 3400 I wouldnt recommend it. A top swap (from a 98+ GTP) runs roughly ~$1000 after its all said and done, turbo kits run $2000-5000 depending on what you want to do. Keep in mind, this is for parts only. LMK if you have any more specific questions. PCM tuning questions, both tuning software companies have forums

Tuning is tuning basically, the operating system of the PCM is basically all you would need to figure out.
VE/Load/Vacuum/airflow/spark dynamics etc..
-the same priniciple's apply with the exception of finding your way around the operating system if your sticking with the factory PCM.

I've yet to tune my wife's car for the simple fact it's not a priority.
I've not done a whole lot of tuning on the V6 models, but the only hitch i've found/heard about is when it comes to the VATS system.
That system has nothing to do with driveability so you shouldn't have an issue.
If you upgrade to forced induction than there are base files from GM utilizing boost tables etc..(for the 3800 at least I know there is)
Simply start with one of them-tune like you would anything else.
If it's FI,you will be tuning for a richer mixture than N/A-but if you tune i'm sure you know that.
If you need one of those base files let me know,I'm pretty sure I have some laying around in my file library.
I'll have to find it though,I uploaded tons of V6 cars to send to the developer of one of my programs so he could build V6 definition files.

Like I said though, haven't done a whole lot of messing with them.(I mostly do F-body/trucks)
I think those files are in .bin config so they should be useable depending on your programming suite.
