The weird thing is Im the loud assertive one in our family, but I feel rude for wanting to insist they replace the car
I dont want to cause problems for anyone, I just want to have the dependable GM Certified vehicle I thought I was purchasing. Ive been NOTHING but nice and understanding towards them over these past 3 months. The only time I even insisted on a loaner vehicle is when I was told to ride with the tow truck driver, with my 2 year old daughter in tow, and was then stranded up at the dealership for an hour. They finally pulled a car off the lot for me to get us home. And I just payed to have the window tinted a month or so ago so Im out that money. __________________ 2011 Impala LT ![]() |

Ditch it. I it's causing this much trouble in only 3 months. It'll probably only get worse. The dealership is wrong here if you ask me. I would have already been in there raising all kinds of hell. You don't need to let it wait and get completely screwed.

I also get that bumping on the gas/brake pedal when doing a long turn. My friends freak out when they feel it... I had my tires aligned and balanced but maybe because I ate so much potholes in NYC it needs realigning. A possibility is because of bent rim from what I heard. As for the squeaking noise I have the same thing also, EVEN after I had the dealer replace the power steering 3 weeks ago on a recall. It did not go away at all.. All these noises and shaking vibrations seem to come from turning the steering wheel almost all the way to the limit... Of course mine does not have any warranty but so far in these 8 months of owning it, I wished I bought a brand Impala instead.

Ive read up on our Lemon Law and it looks like in Michigan your vehicle has to have been serviced 3 or more times for the same problem with no resolution or it has to be out of service for 30 consecutive days. If it falls under either of those you are entitled to a refund or compensation of another vehicle you both agree with.
Im not sure if I would qualify even though Ive been to the shop so many times. The only thing they have repeatedly not been able to fix is the shake. They have did alot to lessen it but its definitely still there. A friend of mine was riding with me last night and out of nowhere asked why the car felt funny. To her she could feel it in the floor boards. She hasnt the slightest about anything that has been going on with the car or dealership. Im sick to my stomach about the whole thing. Beyond disappointed. I may not be a millionaire buying a new car every month but got damn we have bought 4 vehicles from them in the last 7 years and never had an issue or been a problematic customer. That has got to count for something. Im scared just thinking about signing papers on another car. __________________ 2011 Impala LT ![]() |

Sometimes you get a dud. Lol. Don't be scared though. I don't feel as if this should affect in any bad way at all. You have the right to take it back after this much trouble. If they really wanna try and scam you outta something like this I absolutely raise hell. But thats me, my parents taught me not to take shit from anyone. including a dealership.

Sounds like a lemon law qualifier to me. You shouldn't feel bad, you're the one spending a crap load of money, not them.

Yeah dont be afraid of the Dealership, you are clearly in the right here. i was raised the same way. i love ripping a dealership a new ass i hate dealerships, why? because of this. im not even gonna get started on that subject. a little trick you might try if they dont cooperate, is find a guy in his 50s-60s (They are obligated to respect there elders at work) who really loves to fight with dealerships and knows his shit, and sick him on them. it works

I've been at the dealership all day. I called at 9am and straight up time for a different car. I ended up walking out with a 2011 Impala LT. I could tell it drove better before we had even left the parking lot. I had to pay the price difference of course but it's "GM Certified", has half the miles the 08 had, 2 years newer and I got it for $1k under blue book. We worked it as a trade in for my 08. I put almost 9k miles on it and the gave $500 less than what I paid. Not perfect but I think it was the best I was going to get.*
I'm so glad to be rid of the 08. The '11 has a crap ton of warranty under it and looks brand new inside and out. They did have a few other Impalas but nothing certified just normal 30-45 day warranties. After all the problems with the 08 I couldnt even try to bring myself to sign papers without the safety of a warranty. __________________ 2011 Impala LT ![]() |

Yeah, and some shots of the new car would be cool too.
