Keep the strong attitude pkaszr, that is your golden ticket.

I myself have been smoke free for almost 100 days (95 to be exact) and still going strong.

I will be saying a few prayers for you.

I had to have a drainage tube installed June 1st in my left lung to drain fluid left over from pneumonia and while I was on the table the Surgeon also did a biopsy on 2 lymph nodes near my windpipe. I am still healing from that but the Surgeon said I did well.
Friday, June 29, I go under the knife again to have the upper 1/3 of my right lung removed. I have been told that since the cancer did not spread I will not need chemo or radiation. But from what I have read the recovery time for this operation could be as long as 3 months. That is going to drive me nuts. I am not even supposed to drive while on narcotic pain killers. (oxycodone). I do enjoy reading and even now I go through about 4-5 novels a week. I hate daytime television. I think as soon as I am able I an going to start cleaning the house of 6 years of nicotine. Kathy stopped smoking at the same time so that will be the end of that.
I was told I would be in the Hospital (Dartmouth-Hitchcock) for 4-5 days but there is WiFi available so I will able to check in here to see what's new.
The good news is that we still don't smoke. The bad news is that the original diagnoses was wrong. The cancer is at Stage 4 and is inoperable. The Chemo starts 8/3 and they are going to do the best they can to keep me comfortable for as long as they can. Thanks for all your kind words and thoughts........Phil

Phil, I am so sorry to hear this. Knowing there's something wrong but not having a way to resolve it is the worst feeling ever, I'm sure this extreme is quite humbling. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. If there's anything that I, or us here at the forum can do, please don't hesitate to let us know.

All the best, and stay strong!

Matt

Phil, first thank you for sharing. I cannot imagine what you and your family are going through right now. Just know that there are a lot of folks, who you have never met, thinking about you. In my Prayers.

All this talk today about family deaths and going to see our doctors...
Makes me wonder how Pkazsr is doing.

Yeah, I know.....his last post below was 8/4/12.

"Neither of my sons will ever get my Vette, after I'm gone, it goes to my Wife, then to my Brother, then to his oldest son. My oldest son introduced me to his husband at my Mother's Funeral and the other son, at 23, still doesn't realize you have to work to get money to put a roof over your head".
