I drove a 15 that my sister owned.. When I got there to help my sister that was out of town. She had instructions for me and said out of her cars I could only use the Impala lol... As much as I like the Impala I really wanted to drive her A6. She had the keys locked away lol... So I got in the Impala, Started it and looked over things. Set stereo, and adjusted seat, mirror and left the rest as it was... After a short warm up time, I left out her place in 2 min drive through Bellevue made it to the first red light about 3rd car back when the car Died on me, I was like OMG this is a new car, Shifted it to Park and the car started right back up on its own. I was like huh??? Tried to call my sister to find out what was going on, Left a mesasge, Until I made it out of town I kept shifting down before a stop and found it didn't shut off on me. I was on 405 in my way to Bellingham to pick up my Niece when the car died again... I didn't think it would do it on the freeway, so kept doing the shift down when coming to a stop.. Made it all the way to the Ferry in Bellingham, where i was little early so I got the manual to try and find out what I could do to not shift all the time to keep it from dying on me... I didn't find anything by the time her boat came in from Alaska. Niece showed me how to Change the HVAC controls to stop the car from turning off...
I thought it was a real PITA.... It didn't look like it really offered anything in the MPG ways for driving. I guess may be do to big car little motor.. Asked my sister after she called me back why she had bought this over the LT that had the V6 and she said she thought it may have been good for her long trips that she didn't want to drive her other cars. She did sell her Impala in 2016, When I asked her she said she liked the car, didn't really care for the stop start thing in the end and was not really her main reason to sale it. Main reason she said was her Audi was better on gas and started driving it more. Out of the 11 months she had her car she said besides the times I drove it she always left it in Eco mode trying to prove it was better. She told me even a couple of times it started on a slow roll after she didn't come to a stop. Always seemed to work good, didn't have any issues with the car. So starter lasted and so did her battery's. She said she also would elect not to buy another with stop start.
It isn't what you Drive that matters, It is how you drive it.
