2011 p2138 reduced engine power

I have a 2011 with 20k miles .I get a service traction control , service Stabilitrac and then reduced engine power messages and my check engine light comes on and i get a p2138 code. I took it to the dealer the first time he said it was the acc pedal and relpaced it. Two days later it did the same thing again. I took it back to the dealer he had it for two days and said it was that i had an aftermarket radio installed. I removed the aftermarket radio and put the factory radio back in.Three days later it happened again . Has anyone else had this same problem? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Bill

very likely a failed Throttle body - plastic gear in the stepper motor. You have to replace your throttle body.

Wow! I have a 2010 Impala w/3.5 also under 38K miles. I'm also having the same problem. Stealership also got this code and said there was a TBS to wiggle the wires in the kick panel. After pulling the codes and wiggling the wires that was $90 dollar Diag fee. Now he needs more time and another $90 bones for further diag... I didnt do further Diag as I was leaving on a Trip from South Texas to Michigan this morning. Well 6hrs into the trip the reduced power and other codes came on, shortly after the car shut off as I was doing 70mph!!! Now I'm stuck in the Dallas area with some family and will try the Jerrys Chevrolet on I20 in the morning.

Any further info on a fix??

Has anyone figured out the solution to this? I was driving home at 1am this morning and noticed a bit of a reduction in power, my Impala felt like it gave alittle chug and the reduced power message came up, engine light on, traction control and stabiltrac messages came on. I was 4 miles from home and made it to my drive. I googled when I got in the house and found all kinds of links to sites about this. I'm 20 miles from the dealership so in the morning I'm going to try and make it there, of course I bought it used at a Ford dealer who will take it to one of the Chevy dealers. I'm at 47,000 miles so out of the bumper to bumper and not sure if the powertrain will cover it. Would love to know what anyone knows about this. Thanks!

Jolie, please feel free to send me a direct message if you'd ever like me to call your Chevrolet dealership on your behalf (if you decide to involve them, which I recommend). I'm really sorry to hear of your continued concerns!

Best,

Katie

Followup: Just got a call from the dealer. This is what I posted in another section of the forum:

Just got a call from the dealer. They do have a certified Chevy technician (remember I bought the car from a Ford dealer who takes it to a GM dealer when it's a warranty item which I'm now out of the bumper to bumper warranty so they kept it at Ford). And you are correct it showed the code for the Accelarator Pedal Sensor and they are replacing it today. Yea!!! And it's not going to cost me an arm and a leg. Whew!!

Hoping this is it for awhile!

I sure hope it's fixed. Searching all over the net (which can be a bad thing sometimes seeing all the different things) some people have to bring theirs in several times for different things before they find the right solution for this. I'm just wondering if the accelerator pedal sensor is the same as the throttle body sensor as I've seen that mentioned.

There is a sensor by the pedal that determines how much throttle you are telling it to give, and two in the throttle body on the engine to make sure it's doing it right. The P2135 code is for the throttle body sensors, it sounds like your issue was the other one.
