Just bought my 2015 impala and changed the reverse stock bulbs. I placed in sylvania 9440 led and they are bright as hoped for. However they stay on even when parked, driving etc but are very dim. They do light up like a xmas tree when vehicle is in reverse. Is it possible that when installed they were put in wrong?. Need as much help as possible

Someone else on here had issues with replacing the OE bulbs with aftermarket LED's and ended up killing battery etc. A few $$$ trips to dealer and apparently traced them back to the LED's.
Something to do with the brain that is in the LED's and back feeding something throughout the electrical system causing things that should be "sleeping" to stay awake.

In the end I believe that the LED's were removed and issues went away.

It is also possible that the wrong type of bulb was used. Even though most shops list 7440 and 7443 as identical the pins in the socket are different. A true 7440 LED with the bulb part facing upward will only have 1 pin on the right side of the base on each side of the connector. If the LED has 2 pins on each side of the connector it is a 7443 bulb and is improperly wired to go in a 7440 socket. There is a way to fix this, while looking at the bulb as described above, slowly and gently fold over the pin on the left side of the connector to the other side of the bulb. Rotate the bulb and do the same thing, in the end you will have 2 connectors on the right hand side on each side of the connector. Do not let the pins touch each other and insert into the socket. This is what I did and it works like a charm in my 2015. Good Luck.
