new from ohio

Hi all my name is joe recently got a 1969 Impala. Its a work in progress. Main reason for getting this car was something to hand down to my son even though as of now he is only 6 months old. I have a 350 small block I'm building for it now and a turbo 400 trans.

Really great car to work on and Year One should have a lot of parts to get it even better.

Yea year one has every part you could need if you want to rob fort knox to afford them lol. This is my first restoration so maybe cost just seems high to me. They told me it was around $700 to get new seat covers and an extra $150 for foam. So think I'm just going to put a set of racing buckets in and save the original frames just in case

Check local shops for the seats they can usually do better. The really hard to find parts is where I have used year one, and Yes they are high.

As Tony said pictures would be good.

Seat covers

Get a classic industries magazine for your car from classicindustries.com. I have one for my '67 impala and the prices are very reasonable. I/m looking at the book right now at your exact seat covers. They only want 439.99 for all four seats. They also guarantee GM quality and I think my back seats look great. My foam was still in good shape so I saved a few dollars there but I really think the magazine is worth a shot. Try impalabobs.com as well. Year one is outrageous with prices and it takes forever to get anything from them.

I live in cambridge it is about 20 miles east of zansville and thanks for the advice about classic industries. The car has the front bench and I'm really thinking about finding some bucket seats insted
