Initial start up

hey guys,

i'm new here, and looking for info and advice. but first a brief history;
I am rebuilding a 66 impala, not a SS originally although now has the spirit and muscle of an SS. The vehicle started as 3 speed 283 car, and is now a 383, 540hp, 580 lbs of torque beast, with a 6 speed manual. Now to my question;

The motor was built and ran on a dyno, approximately 2 years ago. Unfortunately overseas service and life in general has slowed me down from completing the build. I now have the motor installed, and i am dieing to here the motor run. The beast will not start. any suggestions on initial start up would be greatly appreciated.

Does it have spark, and have you tried to put a table spoon of gas down the carburetor?
