Welcome

Some things are better left unsaid, which I generally realize right after I have said them.

Ever buy a mod, wait weeks & weeks while on back order, get the part & it doesn't fit? Happened to me today, twice.

Ordered chrome side door pillar chrome plates & 2" chrome rear deck trim from 2 diff companies. Paperwork (& amazon garage) say they are for 2014 Limited & fit my car.

Rain stopped for first time in months so I finally offered them up to the car, I even took car to my body shop to see what they thought, same thing.

Door pillars were off angle so didn't line up correctly & over lapped off the door in places. Trunk deck molding sagged in middle when you lined up the ends. To install would have to bend it as adhered & hope it didn't crease, bow or come out wavy.

I live in BFE so theres no easy going to custom shops. At this point my next mod may just be flat black plastidip spraying car & rims front to back & top to bottom & calling it done.

Final thought is the pillars plates were actually designed for models prior, before Chevy decided to put curved plastic in as door pillar covers vs older flat ones that looked more like car body.

That sounds like a good explanation. I never really thought about the shape of the pillars being different other than the texture. You are probably correct.

I'm finding part # for pillar trim is always the same from 2006-2013 & 14-16 Limiteds on majority of sites.

It seems the pillars changed again from the 2006-2013 style for the 2014-2016 years Limiteds. 2014-2016 Limited of course being the "classic" 2006-2013 old body style but the pilllar material, shape & curve were one of the small changes from the '13 LTZ to '14+ Limited.

In case it helps anyone, took some looking but found these on a site.

Theses are the correct pillar covers for '14+ Limiteds. Notice curve in the lower right corner of back pillar, it slopes in. Also the front ones are slightly diff angle on the top right corner.

Companies purchased from did research & found the parts actually do not fit the newer year limiteds (as listed in their ad). They approved our refund request & told us to keep the ones they sent us & do what we will with them.

Any early 8th gens looking for chrome door pillar plates & chrome 2" rear deck lid trim (protective sheeting never removed or anything) lol.

It's really hard to see what you mean from your pictures, but I can assure you that the back pillar on my 2012 is also curved. My understanding is that they were always curved. A lot of places (most) that sell these pillar covers specifically state that they do *not* cover the curved part. There was one place that sold "flexible" versions of the pillar covers (in shiny black though, not chrome or stainless steel) that *did* cover the curve, but I haven't been able to find those anymore...

But as far as I know, the pillars haven't changed "shapes" in any way over the years (the texture has changes from shiny black to dull black though).
