I've lurked here on and off for a couple years, and I've just bought my second 8th Gen.

I ran a '10 LT (Fleet) for 215K miles with NO issues, and was headed confidently into another winter with new plugs, wires, brakes, etc, and then I learned that the Fleet model had ended production in May.

I joined to learn about possible issues I may encounter as miles go by, but outside of a leaking power steering line at the hard tube to hose junction, it was problem free, aside from the usual stuff that wears. Oh, and a gas tank evap unit that took a crap.

I thought 'Man, If I wait, I won't find a low miles one, and I want the new drivetrain!'

I found a Certified black on black '16 LTZ with everything but a moonroof for $20K, with 14K miles, clear Carfax, and dead mint.

The 'should I or shouldn't I' didn't last long. I didn't even look back at the '10.

I put the B pillar Impala emblems I got on Ebay for the '10 on the '16, and I had an SS emblem for another project that I put inboard from the 'Limited' emblem on the trunk, just to make people wonder.

It's a commuter, and outside of a catch can, I think that's gonna be about it for 'mods'.

Or so I say now. ;)

Welcome to the Forum, Love the Car. Hope you find many enjoyable years out of it.

James
I'm starting to think the way I'm driving it, it's not gonna have a long life.

Nice, while you have the SS emblem I have a actual SS. If I'm ever up that way I'll keep a eye out for you. Currently located in southeast Michigan [emoji1303]

I make daily runs to and from Livonia.

Very nice! I love LTZ's. It is my next goal car.....:D
I started off just wanting an LT, because I really just wanted the newer drivetrain, but the nicer suspension, the nicer tire/wheel combo, the nicer seats and heated mirrors, the nicer stereo...so now I have chrome door handles, which I really did not want. :D

There are loads of places out there.. As another stated you could Plasti Dip parts or have your whole car done... If you do it right the good thing is once you don't like it anymore or want to change colors you can just remove and add a different color...

Then there are Wraps. you use it like Plastic wrap, can go around the whole car even or buy just enough to wrap what you want. This link has sold many sheets at this size and comes with a couple free tools for making the install easier.

*24" x 60" MATTE FLAT BLACK Vinyl Wrap Sticker Decal Film Sheet with Air Release | eBay

That is for flat black, There are many other colors out there and can last up to 5 years once done if done right. Same with Plasti Dip it don't last forever but good things about these products are they can be removed...

You can even buy some Rattle Cans of Plasti-Dip and even get some local to you at Wal-Mart or Home Depot. Just remember with everything you buy now days not everything is Created Equal. I would if you do it by buying local Plasti-Dip, I would buy 2 cans, use one for testing out on something before you go and try it on your car. Then after a few days a week or month try and remove it. Remember Do this as the same way you want to use it on your car. If it don't come off easy it wasn't applied right. To thin of a coat will make it hard to come off but it will come off.

Hope this helps some..
