1962 impala, bel air, biscayne differences

Looking to buy a 1962 Chevy Something... either an impala, bel airor a biscayne.

Would like some help sorting out the differences in the models and what each one has, or doesn't have. Not really interested in the motors differences. Looking more into the moldings, stainless, chrome, logos. Also if the body styling is any different. I think I saw the Biscayne may of had a different roof line. If you have comparison pictures to post, that would be nice.

What I didn't know is that the bel air existed. I thought it was only the impala, and the biscayne.

I know that the biscayne is post, and impala is no post. Not sure what the belair has.

Are the body lengths any different. how does the trim attach if I have a no trim biscayne. Bumper differences... etc

Thanks

Ive seen some Belairs with 6 tail lights. Depends on the options that were ordered. My Biscayne was a bare bones, had a radio for options and a ashtray. No seat belts, or squirters for the wipers.

Maybe you saw an Impala made to look like a Bel Air or visa versa. It would be pretty rare to see a true Bel Air with 6 tails.

I know there are some differences in Canadaian cars to the U.S models. Maybe that is another difference.

Not sure about Canadian cars, but Bel-Airs only had 4 Tail Lights like the Biscayne does. If the Bel-Air was a US built car and it had 6 Tail Lights, then someone switched the Trunk Lid.

In '62, an Impala could also be a post if it was a 4-Dr car. They made both 4-Dr Sedans (post) and 4-Dr HT's (no post).

A Bel-Air could also be both post and no post in a 2-Dr.

The Biscaynes are all posts.

This is your lucky day. My 62 SS is sitting in the garage with 30 yrs of dust on it. all original w/ hub caps and in good shape as far as i know. I am second owner. I had it painted and the engine rebuilt before i parked it there due to loosing my eyesight. It is 283 poweglide on the wheel. buckets, but am sure the interior is shot. the front clip is hanging on the wall of the garage and it's all there. Also have a parts car, also and SS, but it's in the pasture. it is console model but some guy hit a deer with it. SE Kansas. you can reach me email : usamc2@gmail.com i can send a couple of pics i took with my cell phone a couple years ago, but like i said, i am blind. the pics show the L rear quarter where the antenna is mounted, SS emblem and bumper.
