65 impala help
I just purchased this 65 2dr hdtp it was suppose to be a 300 h 327 4sp 12blt posi how can i find out for sure it does have a tach in the dash.there is no engine or tranny as you can see from the pic i will need a lot of part's. the rear end is a 12blt posi i don't know if factory for sure.

This might help a little, check the VIN tag on the drivers side door pillar by the hinge.

Someone has done a lot of work on your car. Paint looks very nice. The VIN will tell if your car is a SS or not. All 65 impala's with 300 hp or more had 12 bolt rear ends. Even 4 door cars. The cowl tag nor the Vin will tell you what engine your car had original other than a 8 or a 6. The woodgrain on your lower dash indicates a regular Impala as all SS cars had brushed aluminum. The tach is a original that could be added in place of the clock or vacuum gage. The cowl tag indicates a black vinyl interior with a bench seat. That also would also indicate a regular Impala.

^^ But some 327 250hp cars had the 12 bolt rear. Mine came that way. Evidently was ordered that way as i found the build sheet in the car proving it came with it.

those are not factory rivets on the firewall tag, It could be not the original. paint looks good. I would like to see some more pics, I'm doing a 65 SS now as well.
