Ok, I installed an aftermarket head Unit in My 06 LTZ w/ BOSE (non premium, doesn't fade) and I have a interference/hiss that's is audible at all times. Also hear engine whine when accelerating.

Now I'm using the PAC GM-31 Interface and it is wired correctly and securely. I have spent hours on the phone with PAC's tech support and they have no idea. I have tested every wire to and from the deck with a voltmeter and nothing is out of the ordinary.

The strangest thing however is that when I turn the car off and the R.A.P. kicks in the hiss/interference all but disappeared. (just an occasional low static)

I have searched all over for weeks, including this forum and no luck. PLEASE help before I lose my mind!:bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang:

2003 Impala LS radio reception on am is so bad I might sell the car, so you say who listens to am radio, well I like sports talk radio, and it's on am. So is the problem with the anttena in the back window or the fact that I have window tint on the back window, or can I install the regular anttena on the car? Replacing the radio is not a good option with everything that goes on with it and the rest of the car. Is there a connection at the window that might be the problem? Please help if you have an answer.

hey guys, new to this site! hope im posting in the right section.
my problem is my 05 impala doesn't make any sounds? i recently bought from an auction and needed to replace hood, bumper, right fender, and few under the hood stuff. anyways... all thats fixed, even got me some spyder HALO lights :D , and i notice my stereo wouldnt turn on, i took it out and noticed they just put it in there. the guy who owned it before me probably had a system and aftermarket stereo since theres cables everywhere and a harnest adaper, so he just decide to put in the stock stereo and put the dash back together asap without putting back in screws. so i hooked it up and it turns on, but the problem is, it keeps shorting out the fuse (whether the stereo is hooked up or not) ive tried 5 fuses and all got burnt after a few minutes. i dont get any sound whatsoever (like when the keys in the ignition it should make a beep sound)
can someone please help? ill give out more info, and pics if asked.

The subs are Sony 10" with a Kenwood amp. It's rated at 300 watts RMS, or 1100 marketing-BS watts. So it's got plenty of oomph. The mid-range and tweeters are from Scosche. I crafted the enclosures myself.

So I have been really enjoying all the help from here. I wanted to take some time and put a tutorial on here for a taillight flasher (FlashBack).
For those of you that don't know what this is...
This module flashes the Brake Lights and Back up Lights. It alternates between both brake and both reverse.
I have purchased the ETFBSSN-P Flasher w/ 12 wire leads (18 in. wire length)
SIRENNET.COM - SoundOff Flashback Solid State Taillight Flashers

To Start.. This is the wiring color code for the taillights.

Yellow: Left Tail Light
Darker Green: Right Tail Light
2x Lighter Green: Reverse Lights
Purple/White: Right DRL
Brown/White: Left DRL
Black: Ground

I used one of the rear bumper bolts on the inside of the trunk near the XM module for Ground. I then ran 2 10 Gauge and 1 14 Gauge from Trunk to Hood. In the trunk there is a harness behind the rear passenger seat. Just feed the wrapped wires through the existing hole. (No Mod Needed).
Ran wires under side trim up to dashboard and drilled 1/2 hole for 2 10 Gauge wires through firewall. 14 Gauge wire left in cab for switch.
Sealed firewall with silicone and then sprayed (rubber spray) on engine side of firewall holes.

I mounted the flasher on the passenger side trunk, under the plastic trim near the trunk latch passenger side.

This module also has a extra wire for trunk lid lights. (flashes when the trunk is open) lights mount on the inside of the trunk lid if you add them.

Instruction from Sound Off Signal are attached, along with a photo of the module installed.

I wrapped all the wires after install, but left unwrapped so that you all can see the wires/setup.

Connect the GREEN WIRE to a convenient reliable ground.

Extend the WHITE WIRE from the module using 14 gauge wire. This wire must go all the way to the battery. Connect a fuse holder to the positive post of the battery. The fuse holder must be rated at 20 amps or greater. Connect the 14 gauge extension wire to the fuse holder.

Driver Side Connections:

Locate and cut the brake light wire. Connect the BLUE WIRE from the flasher to the end that goes to the brake light. Connect the ORANGE WIRE from the flasher to the end that goes to the front of the vehicle.

Locate and cut the reverse light wire. Connect the RED WIRE from the flasher to the end that goes to the reverse light. Connect the WHITE/RED WIRE from the flasher to the end that goes to the front of the vehicle.

Passenger Side Connections.
Extend the YELLOW, PINK, WHITE/BLACK and BLACK WIRE over to the passenger side of the vehicle.

Locate and cut the brake light wire. Connect the YELLOW WIRE from the flasher to the end that goes to the brake light. Connect the PINK WIRE from the flasher to the end that goes to the front of the vehicle.

Locate and cut the reverse light wire. Connect the BLACK WIRE from the flasher to the end that goes to the reverse light. Connect the WHITE/BLACK WIRE from the flasher to the end that goes to the front of the vehicle.

Extend the BROWN WIRE from the flasher to a powered switch that will turn the flasher on and off. It is recommended to have a fuse holder connected to the powered switch with a 1 amp or smaller fuse. This is needed to protect the wire between the switch and the flasher module.

RED / BLACK WIRE: Auxiliary Output to control Package Tray Lights. See Package Tray Lighting Installation on reverse side of sheet.

So apparently the result of my 8 check engine codes and rental car was "low voltage draw" causing havok on the computer systems.
They said its probably the 615w system+35w+50w hid is too much draw. I have a feeling it helps the amount of use of power inverters I use.
So I was asking if there's a good method to add another battery that'll charge off Main battery/system. Or is there another way?

I am planning on installing amp in my car and I just wanted to make sure that I am using the right line output converter by getting the PAC AOEM-GM1416A to install with the stock head unit. I have an 08 LTZ with Bose. I read that I should get the PAC AOEM-GM1416A if I have bose and the PAC AOEM-GM1416 is for non-bose, but the PAC website says that the PAC AOEM-GM1416A will not work with my car. I can find little to no documentation for either product anywhere. Has anyone actually installled an amp in a bose system using the PAC AOEM-GM1416A that can verify it works? Also with the bose system, would I install that behind the head unit, or do I install it at the bose amp?

Hey guys! You seem pretty knowledgeable and I've been using the forums here to help me install my new aftermarket stereo so I thought you could help me.

I have a 2000 Chevy Impala. I just want to be able to play music from my iPhone.

Did some research and bought the Pioneer FH-X700BT. Did some more and bought the Metra GMRC-01 wiring harness. I double and triple checked all the wires, connected them, put everything back in place, turned the car on, and it powered on, chimes work, &c.

Connected my iPhone through bluetooth, and it says it's playing songs, but there is no sound coming through. Any idea what it could be?

Hi everyone,

Ive been kind of lurking around and trying to soak up some info for a while. I have a 2003 Impala LS that still has the factory radio in it. When I first bought it I upgraded the rear speakers to alpines and the doors to orion, its been such a long time I forget the specs of them though. I know I bought ones that require more power and that was my mistake because they are barely being pushed my the factory setup. Kind of sucks when the sun roof and windows are open and its hard to hear the radio..

So recently I decided that im going to upgrade the deck and choose to go with the "Scosche GM06B / GM06" harness because it comes with the chime speaker and allows me to relocate the factory deck since I would like to keep it attached for the settings it provides. Eventually I would like to upgrade to another amp for them but not right now.

Ive been looking at alot of decks and decided to go with a double din model because I think it will look cool. Im going with the Pioneer AVH-P2400BT because of the price and features.

Im still debating on getting the steering wheel control adapter.. while I like having the volume and other controls at my finger tips im not sure if I it justifies the extra cost at the moment. I was looking at the "PAC SWI-PSv1 (New Version of SWI-PS)" for doing this. Will this work well with my setup and considering im using the relocation harness??

I was going get everything from Sonic Electronix as I seem they have fair prices and I could get everything from the same place. they also throw in the dash kit (cosche GM1590AB / GM1590A) and im also picking up the antenna adapter (Scosche MDA1B / MDA1).

I have pretty good knowledge of how to hook things up as I used to be into car audio years ago when I was younger but havent really done anything with a newer car. not that mine is new..lol but its been quite some time since I messed with car audio.

I was just looking for assurance that im making good decisions and if anyone has any suggestions or advice.

Here is a summary of what im thinking of getting..

Scosche GM06B / GM06 Relocation Harness with chime speaker
Pioneer AVH-P2400BT double din deck
Scosche GM1590AB / GM1590A Dash kit
Scosche MDA1B / MDA1 Antenna adapter
PAC SWI-PSv1 (New Version of SWI-PS) Steering control adapter (NOT SURE ON THIS YET)

Thanks in advance for your time and advice.
