to fix the clunk, click, thud in your steering you should keep the Intermediate steering shaft lubed.

some may need to be replaced, but try this first.

i got it on alldata it is p/n 19179923.

i also found a TSB for a clucking/creaking noise from subframe. a result of small relative movement between the contacting surfaces of various brackets, crossmembers and side rails that are welded together to form the frame/cradle assembly. the specific areas/contact points on the frame assembly that may cause this is the steering gear brackets (steering rack) to rear crossmember as well as right/left body mount bracket to rear crossmember and right/left side rails. correction is apply penetrating grade threadlocker to the cleaned (do not use brake cleaner between the steering gear mounting brackets, it may dilute the threadlocker) locations stated above. as well as horizontal and vertical welds. ensure adequate and complete coverage of designated areas. start vehicle and turn steering wheel lock to lock 25 times (performing this on abrasive/aggresive type surfaces such as rough concrete can cause tire flat spotting) it then states to let vehicle remain stationary in a warm/dry environment for 24 hours.

i hope this helps those that still have creaking noise after lubing the ISS!
