So I'm anxious to see those of you that changes your exhaust tips what you went with. I recently had my resonator removed just get a little deeper sound out of my stock exhaust and went to buy tips. The tips the shop had were amazing but they were a tad larger than I thought may fit because for those of you that know the steel bumper is peaking out of the exhaust cut out. Ugh. Let the pics roll in
Ok, I'll be first! Here's my el-cheap-o, $9.97 bolt-on stainless-steel exhaust tips from Walmart! I'm actually pretty damn impressed with them! Ok, so the picture is horrible! If anyone wants a better picture, let me know. You really can't go wrong for the $9.97 price though! Actually, found a better picture and attached it as well...
No problem. If you get down and look on top of your exhaust tip you will see the steel bumper peaking thru and it bothers me I wanted to see how close yours were to that steel bumper
Hmm, I'm not following about the "steel bumper"... When I look at my tips, I can only see the plactic bumper cover cutouts - I don't see any steel parts of the bumper at all... I'm not quite sure what you mean...
All my exhaust pieces on my '08 LTZ are still bone-stock. Can these be done on mine?? Sorry if it's a dumb question....I know very little about exhaust parts & adaptations to it!
Awesome, thank you....so you still have a decent space so it doesn't rattle but it doesn't look like there's a gap when you're standing back...that's what i was worried about
I am extremely picky with the things that I do to my car. I like things PERFECT or I wont do it all. With that said, I was afraid that if I spaced them enough to clear that steal bumper that it would be extremely exaggerated when I stood back to see it, I like my tips to be tucked as much as possible and if they aren't tight I'd be a little pissed. But yours are spaced enough to not rattle ( obviously ) and they still look like they're tucked up pretty good...that was my concern
i got duals from a 99 grand prix gt and didnt like the flared tips so i cut them off.
next day i went to a muffler shop and had them cut me 2 pieces of 2.5" pipe with one side cut to 30 degree. painted them black and welded them on. i like i just held them where i wanted them and a friend of mine weld them on. i have about an inch from my plastic bumper. or a finger with a welding glove on it lol. plenty of room!
untill i get the mufflers i want these will do. i want double walled slant cut twin tips.
