Estimate on 2006 impala

I was wondering how much will it cost to replace, install, and repair my rear end bumper. I was hit in the parking gargage at work and the other party left. I have attached a pic

PartsTrain.com - Hard to Find Auto Parts and Truck Parts -

About $500-$700 depends on shipping and how much/quality of paint.

Another reason I love true steel bumpers, things like that don't happen. Sorry that the person was not honest with you about their mistake.

I wonder if they did not notice the impact. I have never had a plastic bumper car. I have tagged many a parking lot light poles, while parking, with my vehicles in the past and at most traded paint but noting like that picture.

My guess would have been 1000. Insurance will replace it, and it goes all the way to the rear wheels on our models. Some small stuff can be repaired, but that looks like too much. Likely some of the styrofoam impact stuff underneath is damaged too, warranting a full replacement.

On the plus side, the body paint and rear bumper paint on all silver 06+ Impalas I have ever seen, including mine and yours , never match anyway perfectly from the factory. The bumper paint is always a shade darker. So, maybe the body shop folks can actually match it and make it better than new.

Really? Wow. Looks silver. LOL. It is NOT supposed to be two toned, just different paint (bumper is flex paint, body is not). Seems that on lighter colored Impalas (except white and especially silver) the flex paint is always a shade darker - unintentionally. See mine below very slight color variation between plastic bumper and body. Factory paint all around.

It really is a big piece too - from each rear wheel to the other rear wheel.
