Price thread

Is there any sort of price thread around that people post what price they paid for the Impala/trim/options, etc.

Dunno about another thread. We had looked at some "gm certified" used 10's and 11's that ended up waaaay overpriced when they threw on the inspection fee that was not in their advertised price.

We ended up paying 23,072 for our 2012 lt brand new in July 2012. Had the deal ironed out before we stepped foot on the lot, but they tried to play their games and tell us they could not match the price I had quoted from their salesman printed off in my hand. I only had to get up and get my wife and walk out the door once as the salesman caught me and apologized. The msrp on the car was just over 30,000.

Just want to find out if I got a good deal or not.. Truecar price I find suspect, as well as the other so called goto pages for "fair" pricing. I looked around a week or so and found deals lower than what they showed as the very bottom. I ended up buying a 2017 black metallic 1LT v6 with an MSRP of 32500 for 25950 yesterday. 28500 out the door (GA Car tax is paid up front now). The incentives weren't all that great at $2250, the rest was all dealer cutting the price through negotiation. I went to four dealers to before I go to the lowest price I could find.

If anyone else can post their prices and experiences this could help others who are looking.

I am pretty new here, so dunno about any older threads. Might try a search.

The average selling price for our car when we bought it was around 26, that was according to a couple sights I looked at, think truecar was one of those I looked at. Figure if you can come in that much under their average then you probably came out pretty good.

Yeah, taxes suck, nearly 10 % here in Tennessee. Thought there used to be a cap. Has been quite a few years back here since I paid taxes on a car at the courthouse, even used dealers work in the taxes here now.

Looks like you just created one obelix! As for me, my girls an '04 LS. This thread appears to be aimed at newer models but eh, I'll chip in.

I paid $7000 CAD for mine and considering its really low mileage at the time I think that's pretty good.

I got more details in my garage in the link if anyone wants more details out:

And yup, proud to be one of those guys!

2015 black 2LT with every option available below LTZ. Purchased 01/2016 brand new off of showroom floor $28,500. Sticker price was $36,925. It seems you did ok but prices will vary due to different credit scores and financing options. Here a pic of my window sticker.

i have a work friend that bought a 16 LT with 38k for 18k he said. was a former rental car so it had a few dents and dings, came with the 3600 motor. when i looked a year ago the year or two old with 20-40k miles were running 24-26 according to auto trader. resale on these cars is terrible as they drop in value quickly, but last a long time if you keep up on general maintenance.

Failed to mention that the deal we made we took in a "$1500 summer bonus cash" mailing from chevy that the dealer applied to our down payment. So we were around $21,500 actual purchase price. Dealer tried to weasel their way out of giving us the bonus cash, made them very aware when I left their lot I was on my way to another dealer to buy a basically identical car, that kind of changed their tune.

Also agree with what was said above on the resale value of these cars, yet dealers will attempt to get much more on the "certified preowned".

Best advice I could give someone in the market who has not dealt with the vultures and played their "got to go to the sales manager" games is to use the internet to their advantage to price shop multiple dealers. If at all possible get something hammered out that you can print or take in on a text or email to prove the price agreed on. Helps to get the sales managers approval on the front end if at all possible so as to shorten your time and potentially avoid some of the games.

When we bought our durango in 08, the nearest dealer did not have the exact vehicle we wanted, but they were going to try to locate one. I came home and located a couple that my wife was happy with, made an offer on one in Nashville that was exactly what we wanted. I made them an offer about $6000 below their "best price" and they said no way they could do the deal, "they would be losing money". Contacted the local dealer and told them where the vehicle was and the vin number and what I would give for it. Told them we did not care about the $1000 upgrade to the 20 inch wheel that they could figure in swapping with a standard limited they had on the lot. They sold us the that very vehicle and sent drivers to Nashville and got it all at the price the original dealer said there was no way they could do it at.

$15,000 for my 2014 LTZ Limited 29k mi. when bought it in April of 2016. Certified+ Preffered & had financing set-up before walked into dealership. Car was virtually flawless. Spent few hours researching forums, Carfax, cosumer reports, parts & repair pricing, comparing prices, condition etc.

Bought a '16 Limited LTZ in August of '16, everything but the moonroof. Black on black.

No scratches, dings or flaws of any kind.

Paid $20,000 for a CPO that had 14,600 miles, and I got $1500 for my '10 LT fleet with 215,000. I might have been able to finagle it lower, but it was the car I was looking for, I had taken the day off, and I was tired of looking further.

I'd been suckered into looking at 'neutral' interior colored cars one too many times, and the gray was far too white for me.

I had found a Black one with a moonroof and about the same miles, but it had the gray interior, and the salesman was the biggest douchebag I'd ever come across.

There's a funny story there, but not now.

Just paid around $10 for a base model '01:

Not as much space as my '04 for some reason and I haven't even begun to figure out how I'm gonna get to work in it!

I'll get the mileage as soon as I can borrow someone's microscope.
