Dead Spot on Acceleration - 2006 Impala

Hello. I am trying to help a young friend who just bought a 2006 Impala with 130,000 miles.

It has a dead spot - like a 2-second lag when you step on the gas. Not like a hesitation or surge, more like a delay. Not like it is struggling, but just not getting the signal to GO. Happens when starting from dead stop, or trying to go from 20-35 mph. Does not always happen - maybe 25% of the time. Doesn't happen in park.

Replaced gas pedal with attached sending unit - no change, so put old one back in. New MAF sensor installed.

Only engine codes are for emission purge solenoid (fuse keeps blowing).

What should I try next? Clean or replace throttle body?

First off maybe get it to relearn.
Remove negative battery terminal for 5 or 10 minutes and then hook it back up and take it for a drive, stop, start, accelerate hard, highway merge etc etc.
Not exactly sure how the pedal communicates with the TB but in another post I believe to mention some "guages" problems that may be a ground issue. This may be the source of your problem as well.

Hey y'all,

I was wondering the same thing mine has a 1-2 lag between flooring it. Oh and I love the way it flushes when it does.
I replaced my throttle body unit and I don't see much of a difference , MAF too and radiator fan. I can hear the car breathe alot more better now though for some reason.

I hope u fix your problem
