Ok, my 71 impala is making a faint clicking noise when I start it. Is it the starter?

Battery is brand new Die Hard Silver, bought less than a month ago. Head lights and gauge lights are bright, no dimming when cranking. Pulled the alternator and had it tested, alternator is good. Duralast Starter is a new as well, I bought it about 2-3 months ago. What else could it be thats causing my car to make this clicking noise? Everything is brand new!! I can jump start it and it will start fine. Could I possibly have wires touching somewhere?

Try cleaning the battery contacts, then clean the starter contacts. You can use fine sandpaper or a battery terminal brush. Make sure the battery terminals are tight.

It's probably a lifter. All G.M. car's of that era do it . It's usually the # 1 cyllinder on the left. You may have to replace them all
