I would take issue with BMW inventing it in 1961. Here is a 1960 Plymouth Fury with clearly a bigger better example then the 1961 BMW 1500 has.

1991 was the first Impala to get it although here is a 1963 Impala with the top off the 1960 fury pictured above. It definately make it look better IMO!

YES! Of course my cripple status factors into it since I don't want to have to waddle my busted butt all the way around the car while printing/potentially scratching using it as a crutch just to put fuel in it ;)

Also, it f's up the rotation at the station with people trying to pull through different directions. Just keep it simple, logical & practical (I realize that this is a tall order these days), and put the filler on the same side as the steering wheel!

Almost forgot my .02 on this part... If you've got the dough for any of those rides, chances are that you can afford to add a roll bar to any car. Besides that, a roll bar is a relatively easy mod compared to relocating the filler.

Even Porsche, MB, and BMW used can be attained by the masses. Boxters are way cheaper than you may think. Here is an example of one with under 40K miles selling for $16K. Factory roll bar included.

I am OK with an add on roll ber as long as it meets DOT or SCCA standards and is installed properly- many do not, especially if installed by Corky.

They are pretty inexpensive to buy, a little pricey to maintain. My dad had a '97 with 35k miles or so and it was worth like $10k or so. Great little car to drive, learned stick on it. :) He just recently traded it in unfortunately. Theres a nice lil blue one for sale around here though. :) lol

Impala designers at GM- Hey guys, lets sit around with our thumbs up our asses for like 8 years and let everyone get the 9th gen. we designed. Then lets come out with the bat-mobile like car to piss of all the 9th gen owners..........

saw a test version of the 2014 impala today. It looks pretty nice. Just not my cup of tea. Too conservative for me

im looking forward to seeing the new impala at the philly auto show this january but i think ill probably be drooling over the new vette. Damn i wish i had 55 grand laying around..
