The Impala is gone in sig.....

Its super late and I will explain everything tomorrow. The Impala is gone and long story short. We have a brand new 2017 Nissan Maxima Platinum Deep Blue Pearl for the color.

Pics will be in coming. Gorgeous car in person and looks way better then pics/videos shown. The main reason we got rid of the Impala. I have been VERY vocal on here about the front end vibration issue. I had said if we ever had a chance to get rid of it. I would in a heart beat because of that. We got a flyer from our local dealer that sounded to good to be true. It was not and they got us out of it. I could not believe it. This is now our 7th brand new car from them over the years. Maybe that helped as well. The Impala was a great car. We genuinely LOVED IT and would have kept it. But Chevrolet turned the other way addressing the problem with vibration and so did I. I will NEVER EVER buy another Chevrolet because of it. We even considered the SS.

Deep down I wanted it but my heart said no because of Chevrolet saying its "normal" with the shaking in the Impala. Not all have the issue and its been documented on here. I was one of the unlucky ones. I might be 1 peon customer but do you see what happened Chevrolet? You could have made a sale with the SS from us and missed out. Its been another long day taking care of things and will post more impressions etc with the Maxima. But I totally ate my words and will admit on the CVT. Delivery had 16 miles on it. Will edit post with some quick pics.

I remember saying people should get rid of their cars if they weren't happy with them and I remember the crap storm that rained down because of it.
Glad to see you did just that and are happy now, sometimes you just gotta do what you need to do to make yourself happy.

Nice car, I've never seen the insides until that picture. Looks good inside and out. I love that color on those cars! At night it probably looks black.

The new Maxima is a hot car indeed. I have only owned Chevy's and Nissans. 1984 Chevy Cavalier, 1996 Nissan Altima, 2003 Nissan Altima, 2010 Chevy Malibu and a 2015 Chevy Impala. All cars and brands have issues so don't get down on Chevy. Nissan is just as bad

Yep no doubt they all have issues. But I can come down on Chevy hard and feel like I am entitled to it. If you seen my posts about the vibration. You might be more understanding? I would hope. If you had to drive that Impala daily feeling that every single time you drive and never stops. Only for Chevy to blow you off and say its "normal". Not cool. Grant it not many seem to have the issue. But the ones that do like myself. Its so miserable and keeps you from fully loving the car. The last Nissan we had was in the 80's. So its been a longggggg having another Nissan. The Maxima is no where near as spacious as the Impala. Not even close. Specifically the rear. Front is fine. BUT. The comfort is on another level. I thought the Impala was amazing for comfort and still is. But the Maxima takes it to the next level. The seats are incredible front and back. So comfy! I don't have full impressions yet of the Maxima. But so far early on they are certainly promising. I cant wait to go into more details. I think these 2 cars are awesome to compare to. The Maxima also requires 91 premium gas.

Fatties, I read a review and you are spot on. Only negatives if you consider these negatives are the need to use premium fuel and a smaller backseat than it's direct competitors. I also read Nissan programmed the transmission so the CVT feels like a regular transmission. One of my friends has the Maxima it's a really nice car and as for Japanese cars, Nissans are my favorite and the best looking. I actually want a Maxima but the need for premium fuel would hold me back. Too expensive here in CT. I wonder why this car requires premium fuel? I also read that the engine doesn't use direct injection.

No crap storm from me. Life's a matter of getting your priorities straight.

You love your wife and children, like your dog, and only tolerate your vehicles. Married to the same spouse for 45+ years with children for the past 40; keep dogs from puppy to grave; but I've dumped vehicles with as little at 1000 miles and 5 months that gave me less than 1 millionth the crap I've taken from family and relatives.

And vibrations in an Impala are not normal because mine doesn't do it. If it ever does, it's time for a new Impala that doesn't.

In normal mode you don't get the "fake" shifting feel. Its only in sport mode which I think the fake shifting feeling is really cheesy in this CVT. BUT sweet Jesus this car runs like a raped ape in "sport" mode I did not expect it. Honestly. It will bring a smile to your face and sounds pretty good all things considering. 4DSC it is NOT imo. Nissan just needs to drop that line. Luxury with a touch of some sport feel sure I can go with that. I am not sure why the premium fuel myself either. I guess its just the way its tuned geared more towards some performance aspects. Nissan suggest going easy for the first 1200 miles and not go past 4k rpm's in the mean time along with easy braking.

I did not believe what C&D said here http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...-driver-page-4 until I test drove it.

Acceleration

Goose the throttle to pull out into traffic, and the Maxima responds with gusto. Itís a fast car, even by Car and Driver standards.

But to me that is just a bonus. Its all about comfort for me and it excels at that.
