Just got a 2014 LT WOOT

Whats good People, back again, this time, I got a 2014 LT, Black on Black,

First, Im installing my Excalibur 1950, remote start/alarm. Love this thing. Taking out of my 2011 Impala, get rid of it, ( Car) Looks like a very simple install, much easeir then the 2011, where i had to take entire steering column apart, ugg, what a nightmare.

Then, LED headlight upgrade, looking at the Starnill LED for those,

Heated seats, did anyone do this yet? Difficultly level? Looking for factory switch, cant find one. Will probably put switches on side of seat, Still up in the air on this one as far as placement for switch.

Want to also add the DRLs. Did see the thread already for those,

and Now, the stereo install, ( 2 12 inch comp subs, ) and 1600 watts.

I have to imagine im going to have to RCA output jack the near speakers? Or is there outputs for these on the headunit??

Soooooo happy to have the 60/40 back, missed it in my 2011, made stereo adjustments a pain in the a$$.

Also want to add different exhaust tips. This model doesnt have the back bumper with exhaust ports, but think it would look nice with different hand longer turndowns, chime in if you have any recommendations for this project.

Might look into moonroof add on, but probably not, imagine thats $1000+, may as swell just get a LTZ, at this point, lol..

Couldnt pass up the deal on this Impala, and love the color/finish..

OK, if you guys have any input or ideas or whatever, let me know.

PS: Also just found my old 2004 impala that had the Cream paint and tan Clothtop with Vogues, lol.. My son wants it, its for sale for $4,500 so might surprise him with that one. He loved it when i had it, he was 9 yrs old, lol.. He is 20 now. So thats pretty freakin cool if you ask me.

Congrats on the 14' Would love to see some Pictures of your 1950 Install on your car. Maybe a Take Down picture with the RS laid out, some Pictures of your Connections, and then a Cleaned up picture when all buttoned up before you put the car back together...

1950 is about 6 years old, I am the same way if it isn't broke why change it. However have you looked over some of the newer Alarm/RS systems? Maybe something you may like better with better options for a newer car?

What Heated sets are you thinking about going with? The HSK-150 is a Good Dual heat for seat and back per kit. Has a high and low setting. It is Made by Crimestopper and has been in the Alarm RS for many years and bought by Rockford Corp 3 or 4 years ago now...

Look forward to seeing some pictures of your upgrades as they progress...

Hope you find your new Impala Enjoyable for many years to come

THANKS Revo,

Yeah, I did look at other alarms, but I really like Excalibur, and I know how to use it already. Plus, I have the hardware to reprogram the Blade for the 2014. The stop/and shop feature is awesome. ( Can pull keys out while car running), and also love it locks itself after 30 seconds of last door closed. The 2014 has remote start already, so its only like 14 wires, plus the heated seat accessory setup to warm when remote start is used. I wasnt even going to take this alarm out, because its going to be a pain, but I cant throw $280 out the window for lack of effort for 30 minutes,..

As far as the heated seats, checked out The HSK-150, looks good to me, lol.. Not a bad price either. Wondering if anyone took a seat apart yet. Looks like its going to be a pain, but the wife wanted them, and would even pay to have them done..

Ill definitely take pics of the alarm install, and the heated seat install. Did a nice tutorial of the install for the 2011, with pics anyways, and the wiring for the ignition, which was a pain in the ass by the way, lol..

Ok man, thanks for lookin and your input ,

So you're basically back in black...

Looks nice. So do you have the 1LT with the 4 cylinder or the 2LT with 6?

Hey Impaler, Yea man, its the L4.. Need something a bit better on gas, so hopefully this helps a bit. I plan on getting a Chevy SS in July, so I dont care about HP and such with this car. Wife hated when i put the flowmasters on the 2005, so she loves this one being so quite. This 2014 has pretty good jump when you hit the gas, good enough for me to atleast pass people..

The 2011 eats gas like crazy, putting $20 in every other day. I know, what about the Chevy SS eating gas, lol, well, thats different,lol.. Atleast there is a reason. lol..

Thanks for lookin bro

Thanks sir.
Yea I know about crappy gas mileage. My 02 Sierra extended cab truck gets about 12 mpg in the city which is mainly where it is driven. I only put maybe 3,000 - 4,000 a year on it so that helps.
The wife mainly drives our Impala, I would love to have another one for myself to drive, 4 or 6. Beautiful and damn nice riding cars.

No doubt, This is the 5th Impala in a row Ive gotten, being a family car, safety is very important, so I like that aspect of the Impala model. My ultimate dream car is an 1964 Impala. I almost got a 1963 Impala 20 years ago, but a snow storm hit, and buddy destroyed his trailer the day before i was to go pick it up in Virginia. Im in NWPA. Things happen for a reason I guess.

Got some other things, just cant think off my mind right now,

Understand about the features and ability to being able to use the one you know already...

I love the Pit Stop Feature for sure. There are things that I wouldn't want to live without when it comes to my Aftermarket RS. Just so you know there are some people that hate aftermarket things and always blame them for things gone wrong lol... Funny thing is 90% of the time the Aftermarket RS or Alarm isn't at fault.

Now I will admit there was some cars back in the 90's that didn't like the aftermarket Stereo installs. Jeep was one that I seen many times from other shops when they would cut out the harness it would disable to lights inside the car...

Also some Alarms back in the 90's and early 2000 there was issues where people would use bad relays or bad (Low grade Aftermarket Alarm) that would make it hard to start the car because it would activate the starter kill when it should have de-activated it lol...

About your cars RS that it has now... I will admit they have come a long ways. I remember when it would just start the car, Now you can have the car start the heat or cool come on where it was when you left the car, also if it was down to a temp set by the Manufacture it would turn on the rear defrost. Also in the Mylink it could be set up with the OEM heated or Vented seats to turn them on as well. If I remember from factory the options is set to off so would have to goto the setup menu in the MYLINK and turn it on if the car had that feature.... Don't sound like yours does... However still don't offer Pit Stop, or Turbo Timers and extra outputs for other options so Aftermarket is the way to go... Yours RS is a nice one as well..

I have done a few Heated seats over the years. The good thing about the CS setup, It can be used on both Leather or Cloth... About how to do it, I would say maybe look up some vids if you can find them, or maybe if you have access to the Manuals it should say what you need to do to remove the covers. Sadly it is even after doing it a few times hard enough to get it done. Because cars are not always the same. But some ideas...

I would maybe talk with a local shop and see what they charge to install the heaters. With yours or theirs to get an idea of the cost. Some times shops will want to install their own because they know how they work and have installed them already. Know how the end result is and may be the way to go. However I would still ask for a quote for a set you own as it maybe a good enough price to buy your own... At times Labor isn't where the money is made. Either way I am sure if your car has them they will need to have new Hog Rings...

Also I know this don't always work out right, However if there is any type of work that you would like done to your cars Interior it might be a good time to have them done with the covers off already. Like maybe you want some embroidery work done. I have sourced out loads of work in the past, Even when I try and tell the client his and her name isn't always good to add to cars unless it is going to be kept forever some still did it lol... However having the Logo or something done at the time it is good time to have it done to set your car apart from other peoples car, if that is something that is of Interest...

Awesome I can't wait to see the pictures, I like the iDatalink system but have used the Blade and others as well...

James

That's a great looking car. Love it. I'm excited to see how your modifications progressed.

Educate me here on something though, you indicate that you're glad to have the 60-40 back. Are you talking about the split front bench seat? I had no idea that was available on the current generation Impala. Or, are you talking about something else? If you are in fact talking about a bench seat in the current generation, can you post a picture? I have yet to see one.

No it does not. Its a complete DOG! But if you are getting an SS its a mute point. As the SS makes the V6 feel like a dog. The SS is a freaking beast! For such a big car it pulls like a freight train and does not let up until you do. Not sure why you are willing to put so much money into this thing with the SS around the corner. I would not even bother but that is just me.

04imp38, the carpet is gray. Not cut or anything. Pretty sure its still in the box even, although it was a pain in the butt to get it back in. *shruggs, I might not of even got in back in the box, lol..

TSS, thanks man, and the 60/40 i was referring to was the back seat folding down. I had it in my 05 and loved it.

Icubb, thanks man, sweet Impala yourself,
