I have never started my own "build thread".. And looking back I find that odd after being on MonteCarloSS.com for well over 15 years .. Not to mention the other car/motorcycle forums I'm on in the past .. But here it goes

I have a 2015 LTZ bought on 1/18/16
So far I have added:
Tinted windows
Body colored GM splash shields
AVS vent visors

Comming soon

Rear spoiler ( plan to install this comming Saturday)
Replace the chrome mirror covers with red
Body colored upper & lower grills

Have the mirror covers & the grilles going to drop them off at my buddies paint shop next week ( I don't have time to paint them myself :angry1: )

I used this spoiler:
Painted Factory Style Lip Spoiler Fits The 2014 2015 Chevrolet Impala | eBay

Comes with 7 holes for screws in the spoiler BUT... Hardware had 6 screws, 6 foam washers ( I used lexel for sealing) & 6 alignment tabs .. So I made a 7th tab & dug up another screw.

I didn't get install pictures during & im really upset about that & I plan to pull the trunk liner back out to show where I had to drill through the inner trunk structure for the end screws on both sides. The 5 holes in the center are EASY to access from the underside.
But it was not a difficult install .. The directions say use the 4 easiest to access holes .. But I wanted all 7.

I highly recommend a 1/8 to 1/2" step bit & a 1/4 x 12" drill bit

Car looks cleannnnnn. Personally dont like the spolier or the idea of drilling. Harsh winters here with lots of salt = rust.... You have any intentions of performance? Or exhaust?

Hahaha true enough. I must be the youngest forum member lol. Probably wont leak/rust, dunno if my dealer would like me doing it myself, cant be worse than my exhaust i guess :)...... wish i could do all windows so dark

The two drill bits are a must .. The long one helps with lining the 2 end holes up
You will need to drill through the inner structure to get the screws inserted. Taking the lights out of the deck lid & a flash light help you see the holes

I also used a white China marker to mark the deck lid & spoiler after I was happy with the spoiler placement .. So it could be set back on exactly where I wanted it

Tools I used
China marker
2 1/2 wide painters tape
The 2 drill bits I posted earlier in this thread
One tube of lexel sealant... You could use the foam washers included with the spoiler or a high quality silicone

My hardware package only had 6 screws/ washers , 6 alignment strips & 6 foam washers .. For 7 holes .. So I made a 7th alignment strip & found a 7th screw

As soon as I am more mobile ( herniated disc) I will remove the deck lid liner & get pictures of the 2 holes I had to drill through the inner structure of the deck lid

*edit*
Forgot to add .. Feel free to send me a PM if you run into any issues/ questions .
I'll be more than happy to send you my # & walk you through it

Mannnnnnnnnn how in the world did you get to the hole on the end of each side!!! I remember you saying take the back lights out to get to them better, when me and my brother took the light out and saw nothing but metal we was like WTF..lmaoo. I ended up just using the 4 holes in the middle and might either go back and drill a couple of more i can get to or buy some 3m two sided tape for the ends

Before i drilled the holes i pulled back the trunnk lid cover to just what i was gonna be working with, when i saw that i wasn't gonna easily be able to get to the end holes i didn't even drill a hole for them. I said i was gonna come back and ask you how you got to them and then go back and MAYBE drill them. I used the 4 holes because that was what the instructions recommended. It's on pretty good with the 4 holes but I'll probably just end up using doublesided 3m tape on the ends

This is where I drilled the hole through the inner structure of the trunk lid for the outermost holes of the spoiler

This is the left (drivers) but the right side is the same distance from those 2 spot welds

The trunk liner will cover the hole ..

Still gonna paint the caps?

When you put on the spoiler. When you use the trunk release with the remote or hit the button inside from the car. Does the trunk still swing up automatically for you? I still have to get this issue addressed when the dealer put mine on. I guess its in the instructions that says you need to make a spring adjustment when it is on. They never done it. Maybe I can do it myself if its really easy?

Looks much better. The chrome ones look tacky on this car.

You & me both
Probably won't happen till the 27th at the earliest .. Gotta move my daughter back into college this coming weekend & I have to find time to take the car into the dealership . They are replacing one wheel due to clear flaking off.
