Clicking sound while turning car

From a month or two, I randomly hear a clicking sound while turning my car (CHEVY IMPALA 2008) from zero speed.

I only hear it when i turn the steering and car is stationery. I do not hear it when car is on the move.
Sound seems to come from front side of vehicle(RIGHT). Any idea what could be wrong ?

Thanks in advance.

Crkunal, do you hear the sound every time you turn the wheel while stationary? I can check to see if there are any open recalls on your Impala; please feel free to send me a direct message anytime for further assistance!

Hmm.

Moving would be a CV axle. Stationary could be a steering gear or even some other steering component. Honestly, it's rare to hear clicking (compared to one click.

While you are hearing the click do you feel a clunk as well?

Steering shaft of intermediate shaft I believe its called. And excess play in the steering wheel?

I have the play in my shaft as you mention mixed but it's generally a single "clunk" sorta until the gears come in contact with each other and then it's fine.

I wonder if you put the front of the car on jack stands and.without turning the car on, turn the wheel from lock to lock and see if you hear it. And if you do have someone turn the wheel and you can look around and.see and hear better what may be going on. If it only does it with the car running try and replicate it in a parking lot or something. Also maybe check the power steering fluid and trans fluid just to rule that out.

Maybe a loose caliper bolt or the caliper bolts need to be lubed?

Intermediate steering shafts go bad often on the Impala. It may sound like it is coming from the right side but be on the left. I also heard the front frame can cause it to click and is "normal" operations.

Mine was doing the same thing and when I took it in to the dealer this is what they told me. They did this procedure and I haven't had a problem since. On my paper work they wrote this up as bulletin 08-08-61-002D
