2008/8th gen impala ls magnaflow dual exhaust
![]() ![]() I will post more pics later but all in all i have to say that i am so glad i didnt do a custom exhaust myself or have a muffler shop do one because i dont think anyone can make a exhaust as beautiful as magnaflow made this one. IT IS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! Performance is same as my single flowmaster super 40 muffler and the sound is pretty quiet compared to the super 40. The super 40 had alot of drone and a bad backfire on rpm drop but the magnaflow is really nice and deep but isnt to loud in the cabin. Instalation from revoming the old exhaust and putting this one on was about 2 hours but thats because i had to make custom metal hangers and rubber insulators to get it to sit where i wantted it and because i had to type of hanger on the driver side coming from a single exhaust. __________________ Pictures and mod list here http://www.impalaforums.com/chevy-im...-mad-pics.html ![]() Know the truth http://infowars.com |

to correct my post above i meant to say because i didn't have any type of hanger or insulator on the drivers side only the passenger side cause my ls had a single exhaust and i didn't want to order a hanger and insulators online or from the dealer because i would have to wait for them to come and i dont have a lot of time off of work to work on my car lol
I will post some more pictures and a video as soon as i get some time. I just had my whole intake and throttle body apart today so i could clean the air filter, maf sensor, throttle body, and my intake manifold lol it took about 4 hours of time i didn't have on my one day off haha __________________ Pictures and mod list here http://www.impalaforums.com/chevy-im...-mad-pics.html ![]() Know the truth http://infowars.com |

I put that same kit on my 09 LT and liked it, then when i upgraded to my 08 SS, i swapped it over and had a shop do a little tweaking to accommodate for the cutouts and i love it. I also had them cut out the resonator and it sounds badass!

That looks nice - even without the exhaust cutouts in the rear bumper. Are you noticing any drone in the cabin? I'm trying to decide what to do with my exhaust, and I don't know whether to buy the whole exhaust system or buy mufflers and have the system built. I REALLY don't want drone in the cabin.

There is no cutting involved? If not I'm running out and buying a Magnaflow 40
I have a 2008 LT muffler I want to replace, eventually making it a dual exhaust but 1 for now will do. Please let me know! |

There is really no drone in the cabin especially compared to my flow mast super 40 exhaust but to be completely perfect on the answer what is your definition on drone?
This kit is bolt on literally 2 bolts. If you have a single exhaust you will need to get another factory exhaust hanger and 2 rubber insulators. Unbolt 2 exhaust bolts at the cat take exhaust system off hangers pull old exhaust out from car bolt in another exhaust hanger on the drivers side (2 bolts, holes for it are already there) put rubber insulators on second exhaust hanger bolt together new magnaflow exhaust. (all pipes slide into each other and use clamps to hold it together) Leave it a little lose so the pipes can twist while under the car for adjustment for a perfect fit but tight enough so it all stays together. Hang the whole exhaust on all the hangers bolt the resonator to the cat with the 2 bolts and new gasket in place twist exhaust to wanted locations for look and fit and clearance while fully tightening clamps start car and check for any exhaust leaks __________________ Pictures and mod list here http://www.impalaforums.com/chevy-im...-mad-pics.html ![]() Know the truth http://infowars.com |

I guess compared to a Flowmaster, there wouldn't be any drone... By drone, I'm not referring to the sound of the exhaust during acceleration, but that low, nonstop "buzz" at highway speeds that over a long drive can give you a headache. You usually only notice it when the vehicle is in overdrive at highway speeds. I've always had V8's with dual exhaust, never a V6, so I guess I'd just have to hear it. I don't want that "rice rocket fat muffler sound" that is so annoying, I just want a deeper, slightly louder exhaust note. __________________ Sawyer "Never drive faster than your guardian angel can fly!" |

Resonators are kind of like extra mufflers to keep down drone and exhaust sound. When you look at the back of vehicles with stock exhaust systems, especially Trailblazers and Tahoes, the thing you see at the back of the exhaust that looks like a muffler is actually the resonator - the mufflers are tucked up under the vehicle. 99.9% of the time they're removed when an aftermarket exhaust is installed because they restrict airflow and dampen the sound, but I have known people that had them reinstalled in aftermarket exhaust systems kill the drone. Personally, I'd say no to the resonator, but it depends on the sound you want.

V6 engines have a "unique" sound to them to say the least. I would like to go to dual exhaust on my 09 eventually.
Any noticable power difference with the Magnaflow system? __________________ Nate Breece --------------- 2009 Impala LT 3.5L V6 1994 Dodge B250 5.2L V8 1985 Dodge B150 5.2L V8 |
