strange clicking noise inside car

just started happening a couple days ago, check engine light came on for first time yesterday

i took this video, this is from inside my car and the reason i'm aiming the camera at glovebox is because thats where the sound is coming from, the first time i heard it happen i thought an animal had crawlen up under my car and gotten stuck. it's literally right behind the glovebox

car is 2008 chevy impala LT, v6

I believe that is the motor that actuates your different vents for floor defrost dash etc.
Blend Actuator Doors I think is what they are called
Try moving the knob at the right to different positions and you may hear it change etc.
There are posts on here about this and how to fix it too.

Actually having the exact same thing in mine right now. Shop told me 160 to fix it.

Seriously, do it yourself. The part is around 50 bucks, and it is an under half hour job easily. That equates to 200 dollars an hour labor. I wouldn't pay that in a million years. And this is one of those things that is practically impossible to mess up. A quarter inch drive ratchet is a necessity though, because it is about the only thing that will fit.

haha, you have the same problem as me .... I bought the Blend Door Actuator part from Autozone for $38 because the dealer was charging me $62.12.
If you want to stop it temporarily just unplug it from the inside. its coming from behind the passenger compartment. It should be the right actuator. Feel it first, cycle from Vent and Recirculation on the Air switch. If you dont have the right tools for it. you will be pissed off.

Yea the blend door actuator was only 38 dollars and three bolts to take off...they are in a hell of a spot though but if you replace one u might as well replace both cause I jus replaced one about 2 months ago now my other one is starting to go out...
