At least he isn't adamant about it! That does seem a tad odd, and likely not saving much, if anything by doing so as Todd pointed out...

I'm sure it works to some extent, its just that you still have to deal with the nylon socks, whether he pays for them or not I don't know. Changing fuel filters is very easy, and they are very cheap, and it only needs done about every 2 years.

This is a pretty old thread and the poster ( mikemoore ) has not posted anything since 2013 so I am not sure your going to get an answer.

Having the same issue are you ?

And welcome to the forum

Same issues here

I have the same issues with my 2010 Impala LT. Still no resolution. Changed the evap solenoid twice, catalytic converter and it's still driving sluggish as you mentioned. also, had the fuel injectors cleaned. I'm sick of this car at this point

I'll be doing 40-50MPH and cruising steadily, when I'll feel the car surge, and I'll glance down and the tach goes up 200-500RPM, it only lasts a second and then go back to normal. When driving up a small incline doing, say 30MPH, it feels like it's stuttering up the hill, it'll jerk forward then drive nice, jerk jerk jerk, and then nice again.

Would this be indicative of a clogged fuel filter? Where is that thing located on my vehicle? Hard to replace?

Thanks
Mike
