Angry 2007 lt Right door-side speaker issue

Hello all, I'm new to the forum but I've been on these forums countless times.
I have the stock speakers (no fancy Bose) and when I got the car a year ago, the right speakers didn't work. Haven't gotten around to messing with them but now I'm interested in getting them fixed...
Is there some recurring issue with a speaker going out? Should I get it replaced or should I go ahead and upgrade all of them?
Thanks

Upgrading the fronts is pretty easy. First, I would pull the door panel off, pull the speaker but leave it plugged in, and turn the stereo on. Play with the plug to see if that is the issue.

It's sadly common for the speakers to go bad, I'm not even sure how, but they do.

Is it worth the Bose upgrade? how much would that run me? or is the current speaker salvageable and i just have to replace something

Upgrading to aftermarket will be better. The bose system is amped, and the factory deck is different, in regards to the pin out. I wouldn't mess with the bose. It would be a pain in the ass. If you want upgraded sound go aftermarket. Here is a thread I made covering a full install start to finish.

http://www.impalaforums.com/audio-vi...tegration.html

Total cost was about 650, which is probably much less than the bose would cost, considering you need the bose head unit, the wiring harness, and the amp. And it is much better sounding than any bose system I have heard.

You can just upgrade the speakers too, you dont have to amp. I ran that way for about a month and a half with no trouble. You could just do the front door speaker for now to fix the chime, and do the rest later, or never, Haha.

That is weird but my 2008 also has inop right side speaker in the front door. I have always felt that the base sound system is poor in the Impalas.
