2012 Impala LTZ 97K Maintenance Recommendations

Im about to replace my Brakes, Rotors, Tires and Front and Rear Struts. Anyone here can suggest brands they have used and liked, if they have replaced any of these yet

Brakes: RAYBESTOS, ACDELCO, POWER STOP, AKEBONO....Which one has been the best for you?

Strut Assembly Kit: MONROE, KYB, MOOG, ACDELCO...Which one would give the firmest ride with the least amount of lean?

Tires: I have some Firestone Primewell Valera tires that were $88 a piece but got extremely noisy after 1 yr, any brands you have used that are good, but dont cost $200 per tire?

Have a 12 lt here. Been pretty happy with uniroyal tiger paw touring tires. Walmart carries them or you can order them online from walmart for about $87 a tire, nice smooth ride and they come with a 70k treadwear warranty.

I put duralast gold pads on the fronts, have not done the backs yet. Just learned last week the backs are wind in type calipers.

Not done anything with the struts on our car yet.

If you are doing your plugs, autolite and autozone was and may still be running a promotion on the iridiums, autozone had a $4 rebate per plug, and autolite is giving $2.50 a plug. Plugs are about $7 a piece. Also has been a deal on kn filters, $15 rebate.

I just did the 97/100k service but I was at 93k and needed front brakes and the oil change was coming up. I went ahead and did the brake upgrade to 12.77" rotors since I needed rotors as well. Total cost on that was $511 thereabout for parts. Really easy to replace it all. takes the same pads but better rotors for longer life out of them. Used Bendix ceramic pads and acdelco rotors.

I can't speak on the struts for the impala but I did recently use some monroe quick struts on my buick lesabre last year and they were pretty firm compared to the stock ride with 225k mile oe struts on it lol.

I have a set of milestar tires on my car from the dealer. treadwear seems pretty good, braking traction wet and dry is acceptable but they seem really prone to slip in wet weather when trying to take off at a light a little more than "granny" pace. YMMV

I also like Autozone's Duralast Gold or C-Max ceramic pads coupled with any cheap solid rotor. Pads are lifetime warr. even against wear-out. Buy 1 set and the rest are free for as long as you own the car. I prefer KYB Struts + over the Monroe Quickstruts. For tires, I like the BF Goodrich Touring TA's from Sam's Club. For plugs, AC Delco or NGK iridiums.

Yep, and auto zone is pretty good on this. Been through 3 sets of brake pads on the fronts on my k2500, a lot of trailering and they replace the pads no questions. The higher end duralast gold ceramics are around $45 for the 12 impala. Factory rotors on our 12 were still in great shape when I did the brakes at approx 75,000.
