2015 Limited - Recirculate is not really recirculate?

Why, when I have recirculate selected on the climate control, do I still get a cabin full of stinking bus exhaust if I'm behind a city bus? I thought maybe the climate control was 'overriding' my selection because I had a defrost option selected or something, but have now confirmed that no matter what position the cabin air selector is in, it pulls (at least some) air in from the outside.

Could there be something wrong with my climate control, or is this by design?

While I always hated Ford's "you're too stupid to have a dedicated compressor/recirculate switch", at least I could always reach down and hit "Max A/C" before sucking up bad exhaust or other nasty smells.

Yeah, in recirculate mode, you should NOT be getting any outside air in the cabin. Although, I would imagine that *some* odor could still get into the car via other means (meaning that the car is probably not 100% "air tight")....
