I have a 2013 chevy impala V-6 300 HP: my Question Is when my Car is started first thing in the morning or when it sits for 8 hours when I start it the idle goes up and down by 300 rpm does not stop this till I rev the motor to 1000 rpm or higher then it works fine. but every time I have to do the same routine every day. I run 91 octane in the vehicle. some people say that it is the idle air control that is faulty or that needs to be clean Some others are saying it is the MAF sensor. and some are saying that it is the K7N filter that I have installed. Please guide me in the right direction:nerd
Common issue with a over oiled K&N filter and it gums up the MAF sensor!
1. Throw away the K&N and get a stock filter!
2. Get a spray can of MAF or Carb. Cleaner.
3. Spray the MAF guts and sensor to remove the oil
and crud buildup.
4. Remove battery cable to remove any codes OR g0
to your local parts store and have them hook up their
code reader to check and clear codes.

Thank you, I think this will help me, I will look into getting a stock air Filter I will the maf sensor thankfully there are no codes to report,
you guys are awesome
DO NOT use a brush or any other device to probe/scrub/wipe the inside on the MAF!
If you touch/disturb the sensor inside the MAF you will damage it...............
Carb Cleaner on a MAF? Isnt the Carb Cleaner more caustic then the tried and true MAF Cleaner by CRC?
