light bulbs in rear view mirror

How do you get those little guys out?! I pried off the light covers, but I can't seem to get a good enough grip on them since they are recessed a bit.....

Tweezers very carefully if you can't get those sausages for fingers in. ;) jk man lol They are tough, but be careful with the pressure and don't wiggle it too much, the sockets are not that great. It is a 194 wedge bulb BTW.

lol sausage hands! yeah I was afraid I was going to have to try tweezers.
I'm replacing them w/ some LED 194's I got off ebay. I'm glad the LED configuration is longer and just as skinny as the 194's, but I sure don't want to break it off in the socket!

I'm gonna try that CinRed!

tweezers worked!

I was able to use tweezers to get them out. Those stock 194's had actually melted a little bit of the plastic reflective parabola around it....they do get quite hot. Now these LED's shouldn't have that same problem....

But I'd still need help with this one...not that I couldn't fuss over it all myself, but I figured I'd ask to save myself some headache.

lol, but there is one....:) It lights up all my stuff in there when I open it because of the plunger that expands when I open it...

I can feel it with my finger if I poke around to the other side of the plunger switch, but I'm not quite sure how to remove it...

Are you sure? I've had my car 3 years and have never seen a light in the glove box. haha I'm not saying you're wrong, but I had no idea.

I have never seen or heard of a glove compartment light in a 7th gen... For the mirror bulbs, I usually take the mirror off and use needle nose pliers with a rag wrapped over the jaws.

I'll try and snap a photo of it. It is not directly visible but is off to the right and hidden by plastic. It gives light to the back of the glovebox and a little bit laterally.

I was able to remove the glove compartment light switch housing. When looking at the glove compartment, all you see is the plunger side of it, because that is what the door contacts when it is closed.

I take 1 hour on removing the glove box with the 5 bolts along with the lower panel to search for the bulb and I don't find it.

Sorry for confusing your laptop with a black glove box... I edited my post.
