2003 Impala LS Questions
Alright, getting the itch to waste...I mean "invest" more money into my car. Other than putting POR-15 on the rust to keep it at bay for awhile. lol So, I am getting new exhaust tips and thinking of some other stuff.
So firstly, thoughts on these? FLOWMASTERŽ - Polished Stainless Steel Angle Cut Tip Secondly, if you would please listen to the video of my exhaust and tell me how to make it sound a little louder/more aggressive. It's not bad now, it's got a sporty sound to it, I guess. I'm debating whether or not to do anything. But would a res delete be a good option? New mufflers? Cost? lol http://youtu.be/Ta9KkDIG5Ro Thirdly, on the table hopefully soon is my entertainment. I have the Polk speakers and most of the install stuff except the wiring. Planning to get a Kenwood DNX-9980HD. Should all be an easy swap right? Or do I need to do something else? Fourthly, if thats the proper word, what other performance mods can be done relatively cheap WITHOUT having to get my PCM retuned? Fifthly, if I wanted to lower the car with new springs/struts, what is the best setup? What is the cost of the kit and tentatively install? All help much appreciated. Thanks in advance! ![]() |

lowering the car. well im really thinking about the kyb adjustable struts. but with that you have to replace the dog bones on the motor. tomorow at work i will get ya the part numbers for the kyb's. but i have to ask what is your aversion to getting a tuned pcm?

I'd appreciate that, thanks man. And none, I already got it tuned. I mean I am looking for things that wouldn't have to be programmed for again if I can avoid it.

Why would you need new dogbones? The engine and trans are mounted in the subframe, which is bolted solidly to the car, lowering wont affect engine position.

Shorter dogbones would tilt the engine forward, thus raising the trans and correcting axle geometry after lowering. Its really not the best way to do it, though. There are engine/trans spacers available.

Without having to re-tune I would get
HV3 headers or PLOG/ coated crossover and ported TB Much farther than those (could also do prj wires if you wanted) and you'll have to retune (like when you get to rockers) |

Why ported TB? The engine isn't going to flow any more just because you made it larger, you have to change something in the top end before that will help.
