2000 impala parking lights?

I bought my daughter a 2000 impala 3.8 L for her first car. It has 81000 original miles on it. I have a small dilemma. When I pull out the parking light dimmer switch on the dash, the back parking lights light up fine. The front ones do not. The turn signals work good on both front sides and the hazards work fine on both fronts as well. I checked the fuse in the passenger side fuse panel- good. Thinking it is the dimmer switch, I replaced it as well. Same results. No change. The headlights high/low both work great. The side rear marking lights are working fine. Do I have a brain fart or maybe the fronts do not light up at all? This is my first Impala by the way. The rest of the car functions 100% with no problems. The bulbs in the front parking lights were changed as well. No change. I looked over the other fuses and they all were fine as well. Any ideas or is this normal behavior for this 2000 impala? As an extra note, the only extra ground I could find was on the driver's side headlight just behind it and I cleaned it up and no change.

take a look in the under hood in the right hand fuse box, you will see a 15 amp fuse called front park lp fuse 15A it's the 2nd from the park lp realy. if by chance your rear park lamp have stoped working the the park lamp realy is next to replace the power to this is a big 60 amp fuse under the hood. this should get tha lights going

Sir, I checked and the rear lights are working fine and my front park lp fuse is on the passenger side interior and it's working too (checked with voltage meter)......I swapped out the relay and no change........Do you think the BCM could be be causing this mini-malfunction in the parking lights.....?

Also just want to be clear that you have dual filament bulbs in there, you do right?

Yes, I put in the correct two filament bulbs and even had my friend double check the correct ones and they were correct......The 15 amp front parking light fuse in this impala is located on the passenger side dashboard and once I engage the dimmer switch to turn on the lights, the rear lights work fine, but the front ones are dead. However, the turn signals and hazards do flash on the front bulbs......Just no parking lights to light up. I double checked the fuse with the voltmeter and it read 12.0 volts so it's got juice. I double checked the wiring and found no frays or cracks in the wires passing thru the firewall. I found a ground wire on the driver's side headlight once I removed the headlamp and cleaned it up and still no lights. My daughter told me a few weeks ago that the low beams lights flickered on her while driving at night for a few minutes then it stopped. It was a one time ordeal. This is why maybe I was wondering about the BCM. Would the BCM do this type of behavior of shutting down the parking lights, flickering low beam headlamps, etc?

Problems with the lowbeams on these is usually a problem with the dimmer switch, but I don't recall that causing any issues with the park lamps.

Yes, I have an appointment with my mechanic next week......He claimed over the phone if the fuse is getting power from the BCU, then the BCU is fine.....He thinks it may be a wire hidden somewhere from the fuse to the sockets that may be severed or worn thru. Not sure........If anyone has any other ideas, feel free to chime in....... I did hook the voltage meter up to the main socket that the headlight assembly hooks into and I am having a hard time figuring out the correct color of the wire that feeds the parking lights...... I suspect pink. The actual wire colors of the parking light socket in the headlamp does not match the wires on the actual main connector to the whole assembly. Sorry guys, i am not a full time mechanic nor do i play one on TV. LOL........

I have to agree with your mechanic.

wiring update

Mechanic checked out the Impala and found the wiring harness going under the battery compartment had rubbed thru a few wires where it was going back to the firewall. He secured them and wrapped a rubber hose around the harness making them bullet proof for wear.
