popping in the front end

Remove this ad!
I just put on new outer tie rods and I know I need new front bearings (but what would cause a popping sound (almost like a bad motor mount) when you are bringing the car out of a hard right hand turn (like going down a parking ramp). It seems to happen when you are letting the steering wheel return to center from right.

No ideas? Could it be a bad CV?

Check that the steering Rack is bolted down tight. Any loose mounting bolts can cause it to shift some and make that type of noise.

This can also be caused by the cradle bolts coming loose. I would check the torque on them. Could also be the diagonal braces not torqued to spec as well. I'll have Kevin post up torque specs since I don't have the manuals at work with me.
