Replacing head gaskets on 2001 3.4 have both heads off. bought new nuts and studs for where CAT pipe bolts up to rear exhaust manifold. I have one stud froze on exhaust manifold. Ive had it soaking with PB Blaster, attached vice grips as tight as could squeeze on stud. tapped with hammer no luck. ANY SUGGESTIONS ? Heat?
I tried a propane tourch, not hot enough. I bought a Oxy-map kit and had no luck getting hot enough. I know it was me. Wound up taking to local garage and $35 later had stud out.
QUESTION should the stud be screwed all the way to that none threaded spot?
Yes, the studs are ment to be threaded all the way down.
