does anybody have any input on switching out or keeping my oem headlights? which is better to use? H.I.D vs. O.E.M? how much extra wiring will have to be done? just plug n play? I'm really debating which route I should actually take.... any input on this subject is cool with me. and what companies are good to buy from and are legit.

Are you looking to swap the headlight assemblies, or just the bulbs? What's your main goal for swapping out the lights, light output, looks, or reliability? What's your budget? Answering those will help me to give better advice.

If you're looking at HIDs, there is a little bit of extra wiring involved, as you'll want to get the relay harness for the kit when you buy them. The relay harness isn't strictly necessary, but it's a good idea to run them as they'll make your system much more reliable, and will keep you from having to replace ballasts all the time (all though you still may need to have them replaced here and there).

Best company for HID kits is Morimoto (https://www.theretrofitsource.com/hid-systems/morimoto-elite-hid-system-9006.html#.Vtw2kGTF_3o). They aren't cheap, but they're the best kit out there.

I had HIDs for quite sometime and loved them. They are pretty much plug and play just have to find a spot for the ballest any kit you get should give instructions on instillation. I however would recommend spending alittle more and getting LED bulbs. No hassle and no ballests to go bad direct plug and play. The only down side is that its fairly new technology so it is alittle more spendy. But either of the 2 are better than stock halogen. As far as housings go I would highly recommend OEM. I have had issues with aftermarkets leaking and I know many others have too

If you live in the North I recommend going to HID's over LED's. In the winter you need the lights to create heat so as you are driving they don't get covered in ice and LED's don't normally produce any heat at all.

I live out in Central California so I have to deal with fog more than anything. the heat cracks up the plastics pretty bad out here. my stock lenses are pretty beat up and im looking at getting a different look to my headlights WITH better brightness at night. if there was any way to "install" the different looking headlights on my car to see which one I would like to buy first I would do it but by looking online alone im not sure which one would go good. my price range would be nothing over $250.
