Blower resistor?

2004 LS It has had a flaky connection for some time. Now Blower does not work at all. Has the 9 or 10 position main switch. This does not blow at all. Some post show working on HI after a resistor failure. This is now my sons car and it was in the 20s this morning. Going to get a resistor on the way home. I'll also be able to check the blower at that time. If I need to I'll run out and get one. Just wondering if total failure happens sometimes with these resistors? Probably not a returnable part but can I just connect it outside of it's normal position to see if this will fix the problem?

Thanks

Edit P.S. Also has a flaky connection at wiper fuse. Any good fixes for that?

If the fan doesn't work in any position , check the fuse first then the resistor

Ok I'm home and just looked at the car. It has a 5 pin connector and the purple wire is showing signs of heat. Cleaned it off and it all works but I'd like to replace the connector. The ones listed on advance auto are 7 pin and crazy prices like 40-70 bucks. That's ridiculous for a piece of wire and connector. Anyone know where to get the 5pin one?
Thanks.

I agree and I bought one, but what about the 40,50 $ ones. I'd say that is marking this stuff up way to high. Must be an odd shape because I still think that is a bit much. By comparison you can get 8 replacement fuel injector connectors for $25 and they are no less of a complex connector. So sure I mark it up to supply and demand.

Anyone have any problems with wiper fuse? Wipers will sometimes stop. Check fuse and will have bruns arc's. I assume maybe the wiper motor is starting to pull more amps and is hard on the fuse. Never blows just gets to the point a new fuse makes it work.
