Whats good everybody? My driver'd window only rolls down partially. It has grooves in the windshield. I think it's the regulator. Has anybody changed the regulator? How hard is it?

It's not that bad. You don't need any special tools, just some patience.

There's a bad design plastic part on my 1992's (it slides in a track) that needs replacement with a newer type round roller, I'm not sure if the later years have that problem.

Sometimes when the power window motor gets old and tired it will only go up part way too, but you can usually tell that the motor is lacking pep.

The only time I've replaced regulators was when some teeth on the sector got worn so they slipped. Usually then the window wouldn't go up the last inch or so.

Maybe try pop the door panel and spray some white lithium grease on the regulator sector and on the regulator fulcrum to lubricate it?

Tri-Flo (which has teflon) works great on regulators too, often they're as dry as a bone.
