why wont it work in a b body

guys help copied this right from instructions on edelbrock intake why wont it work on b body edelbrock part number 3704:mad::mad::mad:

DESCRIPTION: The Performer T.B.I. intake manifold is designed for 1987-1995 GM 305 and 350 c.i.d. engines equipped with factory throttle body
injection (T.B.I.). It is a stock replacement/street legal part for 1987-1995 305/350 V8s with factory TBI. Manifold accepts stock 1-11/16” throttle
bodies only. Will not fit Chevrolet Caprice, or Buick and Cadillac “B-Body” vehicle models.

Probably too tall, I don't have a TBI, but I know my air cleaner now sits tight against the hood since I went to a performer intake... I even switched to a thinner base gasket.

The main reason is that the distributor hole on our Caprice is a larger diameter so the distributor can be tilted forward to clear the firewall when removed.
I have heard if the hole in the Edelbrock is enlarged it will work, but I do not know for a fact.

I haven't done it but I wonder if you could use an unmodded intake if you took the distributor apart a little?

enlarge the hole, pretty easy really.I have actually done it is why I can say that

Hey guys! For those who have used the 3704 intake were the gains worth the trouble? Thinking of using it myself..

i heard theres not much increase over stock, u need the egr if ur in a emission state,with the small vlvs in the head and stock cam imo there no real hp increase or torque, the stock computer can handle any big changes or injector resizing,having chip burnt for a tbi is a pia,they make a aftermarket ecu for this but not sure how they work
