1964 Chevy Bel air engine and transmission?

hi i have a 1964 chevy bel air i just bought it and going to restore the guy just put a 350 engine in the bel air with a Powerglide transmission 2 speed will the transmission work for this kind of engine

If it is in there and fits fine then yes it will work. Powerglides were connected to the 350's before.

I have had six Impalas with powerglides. Engines range from 283 to 409. I was amazed to see that they were all the same transmissions. I am gettting ready to put a 454 in my 64 Impala. The big block motor will bolt right up. The guy that build my powerglide says it will take anything I dish out. Main thing with powerglides is to keep them cool and change the filter and fluids regularly. An after market radiator or transmission cooler would help, so would a high capacity pan.
