'95 RMW Mirror Dimming Button,Brake Warning, and Spark Plugs

My '95 has a button on the bottom center of the rear view mirror that, I believe, is for automatic dimming at night. Does anyone know how this works and whether it's operational with button depressed or button out?

Also, an intermittent "Anti Lock" brake warning light would likely be what? It comes on about every third time I start the engine, and sometimes while driving, but then may be off the next time I start up.

Last, my RMW has 104,000 miles on it. I believe the original spark plugs are still in place. What's the best way to remove--engine hot or engine cold?

For the mirror: It is on with the button depressed. If you look carefully, it will glow green when on (it's really faint). There is a light sensor on the front of the mirror also, mine was dirty and caused the auto dim not to work correctly.
ABS: Not really sure here, could be a number of things, best to hook the car up to a scanner with ABS capability and go that route.
Plugs, prepare yourself for a pain in the butt. Lift the front up, and take off the wheels. That will be the easiest way to get to the plugs and change them out. (Engine cold is best). I found that wobbly extensions seemed to work the best for me.

Thanks! I'll change the plug wires at the same time as the plugs. They appear to be original also. Optispark is doing its job, though--never misses a beat and 23 mpg on the highway.

Why is there a light sensor on the front of the mirror? Does that option do anything besides dim the mirror?

I did the heater control/readout trick and entered the ABS section. Trouble codes are 125 and 127. 25 and 27 are left front brake sensor.

Do you drop the first digit off the readout? If so, it looks like that's where the problem is for the ABS light coming on.

There are two light sensors on the mirror, the front one is for ambient light and the one on the top of the mirrored part is for the light behind you. The mirror does a calculation between the changes in light gathered to dim the mirror.

Make sure the vacuum lines to the opti are good, they help dry it out. As for the plug wires, the drivers are pretty easy, passenger well be prepared to cuss alot.

I believe 1 is for the system number. 2 is Airbag i think. Been a long time since I messed with an OBD1 system.

Abs sensors are magnets, and exposed, rust can stick to them. Figure on pulling the rotor and cleaning the sensor behind it.
