throttle position sensor
i have a 2006 impala with the 3.5 i think the throttle position sensor is going bad when i first start out and press on the gas it goes up to about 20 mph and then i can keep on pressing on the gas and it will just not do anything for a little bit and then it will take off i dont think its the transmission because there is no reving or slipping any advice?

Something is wrong with the throttle for sure, but it could be a number of things, your car is drive by wire, meaning no manual throttle cable or linkage. Is the check engine light on? If so, go to autozone or another parts store and get your codes read, they will do it for free, let us know what it says.
