Quick Question about Oil capacity in my car (info below).
Why only 4 quarts? I'm used to 5, even in much smaller engines? __________________ Metallic Cyber Gray 2011 Chevy Impala LT (Standard Fleet Equipment) (automatic) Includes Stock Remote Starter Mods: LOUD Advent PRO9233N Alarm system iSimple Solutions Gateway & SiriusXM Tuner and Bluetooth - Hidden in dash (Uses Stock Radio) Window Tint Chrome Window Pillars (almost done) Future Mods: Chrome Door Handles Foot area LED Strips (Also replace all interior bulbs with LEDs) Chrome 5 spoke 20" Rims (later on) |

Should actually be 4.5, at least with the filter. That has been pretty normal with GM V6's for many years now.

So I was cleaning/waxing my car today and I found out that my jug of coolant, that was on the floor behind my seat, had leaked a little, so now I've got a nice big orange stain on my floor mat, how the hell am I supposed to get that out?

Just on the floor mat? I've never had a dexcool stain, so I don't know how stubborn it is. I would try putting it in the dishwasher... Just don't let the missus see!

And it's being a real c**t I tried pretty much everything cleaning product that smells toxic lol I use spray nine to clean lots of stuff and not even that can remotely do something to it, letting it dry then its the parts cleaner and heck if that don't work I have access to granulated chlorine and muriatic acid (although I think that may be overkill :P ) |

Non-chlorinated brake cleaner is great at getting out stains, and doesn't hurt the upholstery, so you could try that. Back when I worked at the dealerships, we used to use it in motorhomes when we would screw up the interior. The only way to the engine is through the inside, its bound to happen...

Just a random thought, you know controls for the windows and how the driver side is the only one that can go down automatically? Is that function thanks to the button itself or something else, because I'd replace all of them so that they'd go down automatically :P

My wifes 2011 Cruze (I think all Chevy Cruze) has passenger front door window that works the same way as the driver window, but no controls for the other windows. Edit to add; I stand corrected. All windows in her Cruze have it. For down anyway. Taken from Cruze owners manual--- 37. The windows have an express down feature. If you press the button harder the window will go down all the way. Only the drivers side has express up, pull the button a little harder to activate this. You'll feel the 2 click levels. Last edited by Impala 2010; 08-29-2012 at 05:31 PM.. |

It will take a LOT of work to get it back into shape, so it depends on what its worth to you. Minimum, I would take out the seats and carpet and clean everything, repack the wheel and axle bearings, regrease all the steering and suspension components, change the diff fluid, flush the trans, flush the coolant, change all the other fluids, and give it a really thorough inspection.

Being that old you might be in luck, but if the water got up under the dash, your asking for BIG time electrical issues.
