Assumed this but didn't know if this was a major threat of whether or not I should possibly buy the car. FWIW, it's a 2002 LS with 112k miles selling for $3500. Lot of life left?
How much should I be looking to spend on this then? NADA is over 3500. It's a prego army wife who doesn't want to drive it 19 hrs back home when her husband gets deployed this weekend. Don't know what the quote is supposed to mean by real Impala, as I'm not looking for something fast or awesome...just a beater that lasts until I can get something better.
I am in KS and looking for something really cheap that can get me by for a year or 2 while I save some money, which is the reason for this. The lady is desperate to get rid of it by the weekend. I will drive the car tomorrow. What should I look for?
You're going to need something well maintained or for that long you'll be paying for lots of repairs. Honestly search AT, cars.com, vehix, Craigslist, etc. That's your best option.
The recall thingamabob would NOT break the dealydoo for me. Does not adversely affect title or anything whoopy big like that. I would have the concerns as the others here though.
