1962. 4-door, right-hand drive parts, HELP!
Hi, writing from Jakarta, Indonesia. Just bought myself a 62 Impala SS?? Need help in identifying the type/model. Please find attached pictures. Based on the VIN decoder, it should be a 62 SS, but there are some inconsistencies w/ the resources a gathered from websites....(4-door sedan??).
VIN# 21739T 260888 (Decoded: 1962 Impala L6, 4-door sport sedan, Tarrytown, NY assembly plant. I will be ordering parts from the U.S., but wanna make 'sure' I have the corresponding model 'right'...Please help... There is the issue w/ the 'right-hand' drive model I have....will be tricky to find any right-hand drive specific parts (dashboard, add-on airconditioning, etc). Dash doesn't look year-correct, any idea where I can get a 62, one?? Looking forward to hearing ya'll.... __________________ 1970, Ford F100; 1974, Ford Falcon XB; 1962, Chevrolet Impala |

Check this thread out (starting at post #46):
http://www.impalaforums.com/restorat...-impala-5.html Bill has been restoring a RHD '68 Impala and his dash differs from the ones used in the LHD '68 Impalas. It could be that to make the dash for RHD cars GM did whatever it took to save money and get the job done. Maybe they took some parts from some other GM vehicles and adapted them. Cool car BTW! |
