01 Chevy Impala Stereo System

My grandfather has a 2001 Chevy Impala with the GM factory stereo but his security light comes on often and the stereo locks all the time. he has taken it to the deal many many times to get it unlocked they can't figure out why it is doing it. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

its losing battery power either the battery is going dead and hes jumpstarting the car or a loose wire/corroded loose connection is causing a loss of memory power the vehicles modules while the car is off
