Adding Bluetooth to the OnStar System on 2010 Impala LT
I purchased a 2010 Impala that I thought had Bluetooth hands-free but it apparently doesn't. It has the steering wheel paddle switches to pick up and end calls, the rear view mirror with the OnStar buttons, a microphone in the ceiling, and a LG OnStar module in the trunk (without the Bluetooth logo). When I press and hold the call button on the steering wheel for 2 seconds, the radio mutes and the system says "Ready". I respond "Bluetooth" but it ignores that command and lists the available commands, which doesn't include pairing a Bluetooth device.
I really want to add Bluetooth, but I am not sure who can sell me the correct module that I need, or if any other parts or programming is required. Can anyone help? ![]() |

It sounds like you do have bluetooth. Does the manual say how to pair it? im not sure how. I know its on this forum somewhere if you search it.

on mine with bluetooth, when I said bluetooth, it would respond " bluetooth ready", then I would go through the commands for paring. manual goes through the directions pretty good. if it does not say bluetooth ready, after you say bluetooth, there is something wrong or you do not have to BT unfortunately. is your car a former rental or fleet car by chance?

I don't think it was a rental, but I have heard that on rentals, this feature was ommited. I think that the the OnStar module with Bluetooth was avalable at the time this car was built, but not selected by the original owner. I am looking for someone who knows where to find the correct module so I can order it and correct this oversight.
